This is the best cloak for any healing class until C'Thun or Naxx, and is the first real upgrade from the first real healing Cloak, Hide of the Wild.

It is dropped from Flamegor, the third of the three Drakes in BWL, with a pretty reasonable drop rate.

I wouldn't start bidding huge DKP on this when I have Hide of the Wild. Surely it's better - but not worth my DKP till I see it coming my way cheap :)

It does not benefit a paladin more.
Both shaman and paladin are considered healers. This cloack is a healers cloak.
On top of that priests and druids will be all over this too (not all, but some)

In alphabetical order, this item can best be used by:

Druids
Priests
Paladins
Shaman

These are the classes that heal other players.

Some view it as an upgrade on Hide of the Wild. It is less powerful than Cloak of Clarity. Any other discussion is opinion and can be ignored.

Just won this bad boy, mana regen and the +healing makes this one of the best priest cloaks in the game

You do realize Priests also need +mana/5sec to endure in long boss fights right? Although both druids and priests have a +15% mana regen talent, that doesn't give the shammies a right to take it.. it has +healing and +mana/5sec which means it would be allowed by all healers except pallies don't really need the +mana/5sec. Don't restrict classes and say another needs it more, if you have the dkp go for it.

Dissapointing to see the first caster cloak out of BWL be purely healer-focused. That makes four (Shroud of Pure Thought/Drape of Benediction/Hide of the Wild/Sapphiron Drape) epic cloaks for healers, three of them exclusively, and only one epic cloak of note for Mages/'locks. Even if you want to count the Chromatic Cloak, it's still seriously unbalanced.

The only shortcoming this cloak has in appearances is that it isn't full-length to the feet.

The cloak actually fits quite well, in all its blue goodness, with the three best priest robes in the game:

Transcendence (light blue with gold trim)
Guardian Saint (light blue with slivers of gold trim)
Faith (light blue with streams of silver)

Unless you're a green/brown druid, an orange/yellow paladin or a trend-setting shaman, these threads have very nice looks. ^_^

Got this last night off flamegor, it's a half length navy blue cloak...

Sapphiron Drape is a mage / warlock cloak, hence why it's dmg / healing. Hide of the Wild is far superior for a priest. Also there is a mage cloak off of broodlord....

this morning i'm a very happy priest, as mine just dropped. you can argue the ins and outs of stats but its basically the best priest back item there is. as much as i love sprit, mana/5 is better as it ticks continually.

but there's just one problem...

WHY DOES IT HAVE TO LOOK SO RUBBISH?

i'm gonna guess it drops somewhere in bwl, or it's a high level reward from a darkmoon quest. in any case, i've got to have it for the mana regen.

Would it be totally out of line for a healadin to roll on something like this?

As far as I understand, pallies main roll in MC and BWL, at least at this point, is flash heal the main tank constantly, keep the main healers alive and kicking if they manage to get aggro and contribute auras/blessings...not doing damage, and something like this would help flash heals tremendously.

And b/c we have such low mana (usually) the mana regen would be very nice.

This is first and foremost a priest/druid cape. Paladins can roll if somehow the priests/druids in the group don't want this or all N and whoever wins..wins.

This is definitely better than Hide of the Wild. You lose +9 healing for 6 mana per 5 sec, great trade off :)
