Best Druid Tanking Boots currently in the game.

Unless you have the full Bloodfang set, these boots are very valuable to a Rogue that is in a guild that is capable of clearing Blackwing Lair. Similar to the Cloak of Firemaw, the +44 AP is a huge amount of AP for one slot.

These boots are vastly superior to the comparitively weak Bloodfang Boots.

As the poster above me said, these boots are much better than BF boots. They are also about equal (in dps added) to Deathdealer Boots in my opinion. The only thing that makes deathdealer more favorable is that it is part of a set.

Agreeing with the other posters, this is ideal for Rogues or Feral Druids.

These boots are both stronger then BF (minus set bonus) and the best druid tank boots out there, so it will be a nock out fight for them.

note that they have almost mail like armor class.

Hive Tunneler's Boots are also a solid Feral tanking item (albeit harder to get), and in most cases preferable to the extra bit of armor.

Maybe those are buffed meanwhile, but these boots got more armor than the hive-tunneler boots.

This is in TBC still leather boots with highest armor stats, therefore imba tbh.. but i guess you won't be running BWL in TBH :P

These boots were being wasted in Vanilla WoW when feral druids with relativly weak DPS were allowed to bid against rogues for them .

i have a 60 rogue myself and id pass on these.. theres alot better boots out there those are deffinatly druid boots due to the high armor for bear form

I bet 99.9% of the ppl who say feral druids are useles in raids have never played the class. As another poster mentioned, high lvl feral druids often have a full cenarion set for healing in addition to a 20% larger mana pool. Feral druids can play healbot just fine. kkthxbye

It's a great item for both Rogues and Druids

Rogues benefit from the attack power, the added stamina, the +2 hit chance, and the extra armor doesn't hurt either

Druids benefit from the attack power, but not as much as rogues since druids have a better substitute for +attack power items 0 +str

+1 str gives a rgoue +1 attack power, and +1 str for a druid gives +2 attack power. Sure it helps druids, but rogues are harder pressed to get more attack power since 1 of their primary stats - agl - only gives +1 attack power.

Druids benefit from the stamina and +hit as much as a rogue, but they get alot more out of the armor because in different feral forms, they gain more armor.

Conclusion? This item kicks ass for both classes, and may whoever bid the most dkp be the winner of these fine boots.

I'm starting to become ashamed of being a rogue. My so-called, "representatives," are so woefully underinformed it's denigrating to share the class umbrella of Rogue with them.

Onto the topic;

These boots, which obviously Drop offa Nef in BWL would be a very welcome addition to ANY Rogue or Druid Arsenal. They are quite simply one of the sleekest most useable pair of boots in the game (220 HP!). The HPs, AP, and hit chance can't be overlooked. To be perfectly frank, if a Druid or Rogue weren't present or able to bid on these, I think these are even good enough for a leather hunter given the stats... The liklihood of that happening is nil, but given the alternative (DE'ing) I would vastly prefer to see a player taking full advantage of them. Given the High AC on these, I think it's a no brainer that Ferals will adore these boots... The Attack Power straight to the head doesn't hurt for Feral either.

Any rogue who think's he's passing on these is with nuts, or is already sporting a 5-NS/3-BF set or better (PvP gear anyone?)

However Rogues, as a word of advice, find a friend that plays a level 60 Druid... one that plays well, one that does end game instancing, and heavy PvP. You'll gain a new appreciation for them, I know I did. They're a tough class to play with 3 keysets (not just 2 like us) that the switch through alot (more than warriors typically change stances to be sure).

In closing, as a rogue, I wouldn't pass on the opportunity to bid on these, but I would CERTAINLY not begrudge a druid bidding on the best boots in the game for them... I mean they do wear leather afterall..

honestly if these droped off nef for me and a druid roll on them against me (im a rogue) i wouldn't mind that much. they r good for each class however i think they are slightly meant more for feral druid than rogues.

I cant belive what I'm reading here. Rogues passing on these boots, druids saying Bloodfang is better etc. These are the BEST boots for a rogue in the game(before AQ), the end!

I'm getting slightly confused by the comments in this thread. There are no leather boots in the game remotely close to the armor on these boots, and yet I can't see any mention of it here?

286 armor is massive, and a feral druid would never be able to find a better pair of tanking boots.

Ive MT'd every 5man and lbrs/ubrs, ive MT'd in ZG for all the trash and Jindo. In fact i farm ZG in 6 mans with me tanking. Ive OT'd in AQ20/MC/BWL. These boots would be good for me and i intend to bid on them come monday (our 1st attempt on Nef :P, the *!@#s going down). Druids are underrated by alot of ppl but the truth is for some bosses a druid tank is preferable - obviously not all. And with a full tanking build druid armour and health are massive as is the threat generation which actually surpasses that of warriors on single mobs (we rnt as good at spreading aggro). Im not saying they arent good for rogues but its my dkp to spend and it would help the rest of the guild if i got it.

These dropped tonight and myself and another rogue bid for them. I am a 0/30/21 Druid who mainly heals, but also tanks. Right now my set consists of 10.8k armor, 359 defense (an often overlooked portion to tanking and not being crushed) and about 6k HP. I still have lots of room for growth. Armor is important but there is a curve on how much more armor reduces damage.

Defense mitigating crushing blows will make a huge difference. These are awesome Feral druid boots, and awesome Rogue boots. I don't begrude a Rogue bidding and the she didn't begrudge me. It came down to she had more dkp and won the item.

Its alright because we went to AQ40 and I got my Thick Qurajihide belt there. The best armor belt for Feral Druids in the game so far.

Frankly both can use it and I would recommend that people just chill out and let the process decide who is the victor of the item.

Rogues wear leather, Hunters wear mail.
And feral druids, give me a break, you're totally useless and only a burden in high level instances like BWL, you don't deserve priority on those imo.

Look at the AC and STA. This is 1030 armor for a druid. Rogue boots? No. Druids should get first dibbs on these; rogues second.

QFT. Whoever has the most DKP gets them.

I have both a combat swords rogue, and a feral Druid built for tanking. If these dropped, I would definately bid DKP for them for my Druid before I would bid on them for my Rogue.

Nineteen currently owns these beauties.

Seem best as a pair of druid boots, to me. *Drools over 286 armor and high stm/AP*

While this might raise your survival rate due to the armor, the rest of the stats are lacking in what makes a Rogue shine both PvE and PvP. Get something with some AGI and crit... +hit is good for your dual wield problems, but there are other ways to deal with that other than these boots.

And I swear to kill any and all Hunters and Shamans and fury-Jarheads that even try to justify these boots usage.

it comes down to, who will use this longer? i mean at this point rogues can EASILY get nightslayer or tier 2, so do they really wanna take this if theres a feral druid with its armor up?

Personally, I think combat rogues should get this first because they could benefit more with these in PvE and PvP. And with my experiences with raiding, druids mostly heal. Nothing against druids I just think rouges should have this first.

Prioritys are still needed , your missing the point.

Feral druids can go pretend to dps elsewhere and no sane guild master will give these to a druid thats a healer in raids thats just gonna respecc and not raid/gquit .

Please, get a clue. Nice hunter boots. Attack power and % to hit, clearly hunter gear. And don't give me that crap about wearing mail. Stats matter, mail AC increase over leather is pitiful.

I think rouges should think about how much they owe to the druids, especially feral druids. You wouldn't have all your epic weapons or Bloodfang gear without us. You, the rouges, can choose between these boots and your BF boots, we druids can't.

And about that old prejudice against feral druids in end-game raids: whoever thinks druids are only there for healing will never live up to the full potential a raid can have. Today we did BWL and our feral druid tanked Vael without a problem.

A rogue can ONLY DPS, a warrior can tank, and druid can heal and go balance. Rogues dont have a variety to pick from ,dps gear s it. With so many classes wanting DPS weapons and leather dps gear it eavs rogues with little options but set items. And from experiance set items arent as good as they are cut out to be. As a rogue i wastched CTS and madalath go to a dps warrior... And those boots, if a feral druid gets em, murder will be done^^. Honestly, np if a feral druid gets em, but over a rogue thats just unfair for the rogue that needs them. Rogue can out dps feral druid, tnak can out tankf eral druid. Sure u can make a good tnak or dps, but u wont be the top. Like it or not ur class was not specified for this. Look at this without bais for your class, its logical and fair. Over a class that cna only dps, dps item for em is prio, but many people pass and then you cna have your turn.

You guys are smoking crack. These are amazing for a combat rogue. Hit is better than crit, especially considering there are no great crit boots in game for rogues. Slap 7agi on these and you have 51atk power, 1/3 crit, and 2hit, and great HPs.

I'm going to !@#$% slap the rogues if they don't go in on these when they drop off Chromag for us.

Being feral, resto druids have first choice on good healing gear ... should rogues get first choice on good druid-tanking gear then? That would be banning ferals ... I'm glad some guilds exist that see the benefit of having differently specced classes in their raids.

Sure these boots are great for rogues, but these are awesome for tanking. In my opinion rogues and feral (tanking)druids should have equal chance on these boots.

these boots habe 2 attackpower more than BF, 0 crit and no resistances.
But still, if you don't go for the set, I guess these are the best you can get for highlevel PvE if you go for +hit items as I do.
Really nice boost, although I would have loved some more agi on these.

For Hunters and Druids:
A Hunter wearing leather makes me somehow laugh. But I won't argue that, I know of Paladins running around with Ashkandi and others carrying Mageblade. So I guess it's pretty up to anyone to get what he thinks is best.
But I really think these Boots would be nice for a feral, although I don't really see the meaning in taking a feral druid to a Raid-Instance. That damn resto tree is the top of the edge healing talent-tree in the game, and I can't think of anything more useful than keeping rogues alive, we get enough damage unbuffed though (34% crit, 858 Attackpower, 13% to-hit unbuffed @30/21), getting buffed only brings me nearer to that limit called aggro. (never survived a Ragnaros fight since we killed Nefarian, should equip FR gear again :()
For that, I don't mind the Dudus in my raid being feral or not, but as long as we aren't raiding Molten core where nobody gets AE damage I don't want to see anyone of them doing anything else than healing.

keep in mind that Nightslayer and Bloodfang both have pretty abysmal stats (dodge is fairly useless in pve) so this has very nice stats if you're not after the set bonuses.

The extremely high base armor makes me believe these were "meant" for a Feral Druid. They are obviously good for any class trying to achieve hit, but a tank druid has these as BIS for rest of classic.

Edit: The 2% hit for a Feral druid is invaluable and won't be replaced until TBC. Rogues get 5% hit from talents, 2% hit from BF chest, 1% hit from BF bracers, 1% hit from ony or nef neck, 2% from Band of accuria, 1% hit for each tarnished elven ring, 1% hit from nef head turn in ring, etc. Combat rogues only need 4% from gear. Again, I never said Rogues shouldn't have this item, but looking at the armor and hit still makes me think it was "meant" for a Feral Druid.
