Looks like a little black flower. Most nodes are in difficult to reach places (in the middle of mob camps, high-level elite areas, etc).

I picked one of these in Eastern Plaguelands in Plaguewood. Thing that bumms me out is that i dropped alch at 250..oy.. so have to sell to vendor.
Just a side note..i was lvl 58 when i picked this.

u must go winterspring (2 black lotus)- searing (1 black lotus) - eastern pl. (2 black lotus)for black lotus. i m farming for black lotus since 4-5 month and i can find them cya guys gl.

They only spawn one at a time per zone, with a one hour respawn time. There are roughly 10 possible spawn points in each zone.

Kinda screws herbalists who aren't alchemists too. I usually give my hebs to my Alchy friend who makes potions for both of us. What am I supposed to do with this? Oh well, 10 s is better than nothing, I guess.

This kinda screws any alchemists that didn't chose herbalism as their other profession seeing how it's much easier to aquire that way.

I have found three of these in a short time. All have been found in Winterspring (I'm a fire mage, and am partial to the zone) and picked with only a modest amount of sneaking around and killing.

Stop asking where they are, the Allakhazam map locations are quite accurate. The problem is that people farm the hell out of black lotus and they only spawn once every hour or two. It's like taming Broken Tooth - takes a measure of perserverance and luck.

Mark the map spots, hit them when the server comes up in the morning. You'll get your Black Lotus.

Dear Players,

There are 2 locations that I know of where you can farm the Black Lotus. The first is in Winterspring. One spawn point is in the ruins near the frozen lake southwest of the city Everlook. The second is directly left of the cave entrance to in the Ice Thistle Hills. This cave is located east of Winterspring.

The second location is in the Eastern Plaguelands. In the area know as plaguewood. The trick here is to to look for the towers called Ziggerats on your map. Close to all of these Ziggerat's are cauldrons. There are 3
cauldrons, and a Black Lotus can spawn in all 3.
There are 2 more locations I know of. There are
2 different vales that house higher level undead
mobs. A lotus can spawn in either of them. There
is also a spawn point for the lotus on the eastern
side of Corins Crossing.

Found one today during my first trip to Winterspring, picked at 300 herbal =)

If you are Herbalist i suggest u the download "Gatherer" addon and check out the reseantly black lotus places on Winterspring (think thats the best place) and check all the places. - u should find even one or two - come back for next day and search all the places u may find 2 per hour or so. when u looted it on many places, the spot will be saved on your "gatherer" addon. then come back and search all the places on your gatherer and thats it. u can try WP too if u like :P

Hi,

I always pickup my black lotus in Burning Steppes.
There are 2 camps near to Blackrock mountain where the Black lotus spawns.
In these camps are nothing but lvl 55-58 elite dragons. Not easy to solo, even at lvl 60.
I have a lvl 60 lock and I fear the dragon next to the Black lotus and pick it up. Mostly this is working perfectly.

Im farming my Black Lotus in silithus... so far ive found 8 spawn points scatered all over Silithus.. most in the southern part... but there is also one at the elementals to the northwest

Picked up the reciepe for Supreme Power the other day on my 56 Mage who is also 300 Herb.. Been looking all over using the maps provided here. I the 6-8 hours of activly looking for them, I found one at the entrance to Mazthoril in WS as noted on the map.. Climbed to the top of the mountain, killed the 57 Elite, feather fall down to the cave entrance, ninja'd lotus before all elites caught me and ran. Sadly, in about 12 return trips I haven't seen it again :(

Thottbot sais this is a lvl 60 item (https://www.wowhead.com/classic/item=14335/eternal-spaulders). Can anyone tell me if that is true? I'm lvl 50 with 300 herbalism.

i am glad that you are finding them but the question is were so they are meaning locations no that u found one or not.

Unless you're an alchemist it's not really even worth the trouble trying to find these, they are down to around 7g or so from 25g.

I found 2 Black Lotus in the pvp arena in Dire Maul when Mugrosh is the rare spawn. When he killed me, he said "That'll teach you to pick my herbs" or something like that. I recommend killing him first, i reckon they may be connected to his power.

I found one drop in Silithus @ Southwind Village. Took me 3 tries to loot it with 300 herb

This isn't "screwing over" anyone. Screwing alchemists who weren't herbalists would be making ALL herbs BOP. As it is, this is the only herb, out of dozens of others, that does this with the exception of the odd quest herb. This is, if anything a reward for someone who fully invests themselves in alchemy as opposed to those annoying AH miner/herbalist gatherers.

No longer BoP as of 1.7. This applies to stuff you've already picked too. If you're looking to make Gurubashi Mojo Madness, keep in mind, the Blood of Heroes is still BoP tho...

I have seen 2 black lotus as long as I've played WoW, which is long, and with one of them I played a character with herbalism, so he could pick it. I found one just at the entrance to Mazthoril (the entrance to the cave) and the other by one of the camps of furbolgs on the northern part of the road west in Winterspring. Took me three tries with 300 herbalism as well, and I was level 55 at the time. They are insanely rare, and thus the insanely high price.

Ninja'ed one the other day in Winterspring as a 60 Troll hunter was killing the 56 Elite there. I was lvl 57 when I got it.

I found out that there is no exact spawn time. Mostly they say it is 60minutes but no it is 60 to 70 minutes. I usually find mine at 63.5 minutes.

"Via hotfixes, we’re working on several quality-of-life improvements that should go live in the next few days.

Black Lotus scarcity has been consistently among the top issues we’ve seen player feedback about, so we’ve decided to update how we handle Black Lotus spawns. Since the launch of WoW Classic, the game has used the spawn times and locations from original World of Warcraft, but population and social factors have led to Black Lotus being much more scarce than it was in original WoW. While these issues affect all mining and herb nodes to some degree, Black Lotus is especially affected because it has the special property of only having one spawn up at a time in each of the zones it spawns in.

In original WoW, designers planned Black Lotus around a technical limitation – only 10 spawn locations per node type could be active at the same time in the same zone. We no longer have that limitation, but it gives us a design intention that we can work with: Black Lotus was supposed to spawn in the widest variety of locations, while there could only be one up at a time in each zone. As always, our goal is to minimize differences from original World of Warcraft, and we feel this is a case where we can follow that design intention in a way that is warranted by modern conditions as well as beneficial to players.

We’re going to increase the spawn rate of Black Lotus, and we’re going to add many additional possible spawn locations in each of the Black Lotus zones. With a different hotfix, we’re working on making it so that a player cannot see a Black Lotus on-screen or on their minimap if they’re dead, unless they have 300 Herbalism.

We’ll have all of these changes noted for you in the next Hotfixes Update that follows them going live.

Heads up in Season of Mastery I did find one from a plaguebloom node, but I've gathered over 400 plaguebloom with one black lotus that was discovered in a plaguebloom node so don't expect them to be drastically more common than they were after the hotfix in classic that reduced their spawn times. This should keep prices from completely tanking.
