i was very angry as today a rogue rolled this weapon away with a 93 (i had 90) because there are many better 1hand weapons for rogues, possibly not that easy to achieve, but they still exist. me as a pala lvl60 will wear Maraudonquestreward furthermore because ***king rogue rolled it away.. much too slow for rogue i think

Because warlocks cannot equip maces, this defaults to priests!

To me, I don't see many shadow priests endgame. This would make a viable choice for a mace rogue or War, but there are some better alternatives, like Mass of McGowan, and for rogues, Baron Charr's Scepter.

I'm a paladin with this mace. Yeah, I know I can't do shadow damage but no one needed and it was a lot better DPS than my current 1H. I'm gonna throw unholy on it to go with my skullflame shield :) I also carry the Frightskull Shaft. I guess I like skulls.

this mace drops all the time off baron rivendare. it has dropped 4 times for me now. the first time it dropped i got it(60 shadow priest). all the rest of the times everyone passed and DE it.i have felt bad that there were no shadow priests there to pick it up, what a waster. anyways this probably the best shadow priest weapon for pvp. this with a nice off-handed orb and u pwn.

I never say this as a rule, i hate boxing items as being for one class only, but this is an exception. PRIEST MACE ONLY

there are only 2 classes in the game that deal shadow dmg, warlocks and priests. droods, shammys, mages, and paladins can also deal magical dmg, but NOT shadow.

the applied effect being +shadow dmg, the item should therefore be warlock/priest only, and as warlocks cant use maces (mores the pity, my lock would love this as a pre MC etc wep) it is priests all the way.

Obviously theres not many dmg priests out there by this stage in the game, but they still need to solo sometimes, and this would be VERY handy for that. any warrior/pally/rogue etc who rolls "for the dps" without checking if the priest wanted first deserves to be shot, then kicked from raid.

late nerf another kick in the face for casual playing ss priests

it wasn't overpowered at all and obviously one of the few cookie cutter shadowspec items ingame that we generally didn't have to fight 50% of the other classes over.. 1 it was a mace, 2 it had + shadowdamage, gg ss priest.. now its average at best.

THE ONLY CLASS that would be punished by the +shadowdamage nerf, were shadowpriests.. We're the only mace wielding class that benefit from this damage school = blizzards way of saying F shadowspec.. while every other dps needroller gets to keep the effing damage = blizzard adds a juicy /spit on the casual ssp

it was a great alternative for those of us who prefer to wtfpawn players and be casual about raid content..

guess i have to grind a mindfang to replace it.

This mace has improved shadow spell damage, and the only two classes which uses shadow spells is Warlocks and Priests. Now, the warlocks cannot wield maces, which makes this a shadow priest weapon above all others.

If a warrior, rogue, shaman or whatever wants this mace, I fail to see why. The damage is only avarage, and the stats for any of those classes is absolutely horrible.

I am a rogue and was using a Julie's Dagger, About 5 more DPS and 5 stamina, even if the equipt does nothing for me it is still an upgrade. Wouldnt roll but the priest didnt want it so I took it.

Dropped in strat, priest didn't want and said I could have it, so I needed it (i'm a rogue) - A LOT better than my old thrash blade.
And i got the fist weapon twom, so got a complete weapon revamp tonight :)
I felt guilty afterwards anfd /w the priest, but she said she didn't mind as she didn't want it :)

If a Priest didn't need, then it's up for grabs. Otherwise just let the priest have it. =)

My lock would love this weapon, so PLZ Blizzard, allow warlocks to use maces in your next patch. That would be awesome. (thousands of drooling warlocks are waiting!)

As a MT, I used this mace whenever I was stacking my shadow resist. Now it is useless to me. :(

(and yes, when I received it no one else in our group wanted it)

First up locks cant use maces...

So i guess this means only one thing, Blizz blessed the shadow priests of the place with an awesome 1h wep.

May not swing it much, but the +24 makes for a much more unpleasant mind blast...

Got it today as a 59 Shadow Priest. Is very nice, now all I need is a shadow dmg offhand to totally rock the BGs.

old stats included those, as well as +7 shadow resist and an extra 5 shadow dmg. not a huge nerf but unwarranted nonetheless.

Not the best looking weapon out there, but easily out DPS-ed my trash/bonesnapper/assasination blade by 5 DPS.

It's a warlock mace (shadow spell bonus). The base damage is low but it's faster than normal maces (2.7s).

priest weapon, but who would give up the intel you get from other weapons for this one to have 'up to' 24 more damage... more useful in the hands of a melee
