Spirit? Please, a bit of STA and some mana regen would have been much nicer. Stick with tanglemoss.

If you've ever done a long raid fight, you'll know that healer rotations are inevitable, and if you dont' ahve a good spirit score, you're screwed. Leggings of arcana are the best specialist raid healer leggings until stormrage. Too bad they don't have any other stats.

My schedule will never allow me to do 40-man raiding, so I thought I'd go for these when I saw the Pristine Hide listed on the AH for 100g, pretty cheap compared to what I had been seeing it for.

Well, of course after I bought it, I realized that it might have been a bad idea, since the expansion was coming out in less than two weeks, and the epic that I was going to bust my ass to get probably wouldn't be as good as some stuff I'd just get as green (or blue) drops on the way to level 70...

Anyway, I figured since I was still wearing some ZF blues, that I might not replace it as quickly as I thought, so I'm still going for this. I just want to try to get my Scholo/Strat runs in and get the stitchings/fluids before BC comes out and I can't get a group together for Strat or Scholo.

EDIT: Got 'em! One thing I realized after running Scholo a couple times was this: you don't actually need to go to Scholo and kill anything to get this item. It's not a DROP from a boss; It's just sitting on the shelf waiting to be looted. So, for the last two, all I did was whisper people who were in Scholo and ask if they were almost done. If they were, I offered to pay them to invite me to their group after they were done, but before they left the instance. Both times I had to wait about 10 minutes, got invited, hopped down to the viewing room, ran to Ras' room, looted the fluid and left. 30 seconds inside the actual instance, maximum.

At this point, the fluid was all I wanted out of Scholo, so 2 x 10 minutes of waiting + 30 seconds inside the instance was a lot quicker than running Scholo twice more (2-3 hours each time).

Yes it is a tedious quest and I have done it prepatch and paid the 300g. Good news for others to come is it will only cost 50g once you have all the required items with the next patch. Best +Int leather pants in game +28 since I have Libram of Voracity on them so definitely worth doing.

cenarion leggings are easy and better considering the hide goes for anywhere upto 1500g on my server. if i skinned the hide id prefer the 1500g

Do the stats differ in the new patch? I dont think they are worth it. Im willing to bend though. I have the fluid a few arcanite and like 2 sticthings.

so you need to get the skinning knife off ot the beast drop(any rogues gunna let you have it?) then skin the beast with it at 310 or so skinning for a lucky drop, then spend about 500g for the rest of the stuff. wow, you will be one RARE mofo!

buttugly imo, I only put them on when I go in an instance, but still I think Blizzard should change the look, make it a kilt at least.

These are almost as good as the Cenarion Leggings, but you have to spend:
220g on the hide+ 130g on Arcanite bars+ 50g, and also about 8 instance runs, which makes 400g and 16hours (or only 8hours if youre helped just for this quest)

But for the Cenarion's you have to spend around 20-25hours just to get enough dkp to get them and wait for it to drop(it varies), and you can only do it on certain periods, raids schedules, while for the Arcane legs you can do it at any time and be done with it in only a couple of days.

So these are actually easier to get than the Cenarion ones.

really seems like these should also have a mana per 5 or chance to crit/hit with spells bouns for the trouble you have to go thru....

If anyone playing classic is checking out this item, just don't. There's better gear for damage, there's better gear for healing. These are just an expensive way to say hey look I did some stuff, but you're better off with stuff from pre raid dungeons.
