Excellent trinket. Decent addition to +dmg/healing and the mana reduction is nice in pinch situations. makes the difference of an extra heal or two in heavy healing situations.

This is pretty fun for paladin healers, using rank 7 Holy Light (all spells this is just the max rank highest costing heal you have when you can first use the trinket, so will do as my example).

You pop Divine Illumination and Burst of Knowledge (and Divine Favor), your Holy Light 7 will cost 183 mana to cast and when it crits will still return the normal amount of mana. (465) making your rank7 cost 1/4 which is pretty sick.

(also though I wouldn't really use Divine Illumination with Flash of Light, if you really have no mana and you pop it with this trinket rank 5 FoL costs 8 mana)

Pre-BC I'd never condone rolling over a caster for this, however now damage passive + on use trinkets are dime a dozen in Outland, I think I'll get more use :) (not that there was a caster in my group when i got it...)

This is a pretty cool trinket for instant cast spells, I use it when everyone needs a Rejuv cast on them.

The guy that drops this is the one after the bar, in the room to the left of the ring.

from Flamelash. Seems a really nice combo with instant Arcane Explosion, but I havent gotten to try that yet. Should have done it in the Lyceum, but I was too stupid to realise it by then.

Give this to your priest, you will live through more boss encounters where dispel is a must.

Highly situational item.

Lucifron does a magic effect that must be dispelled. Usually hits the whole 40 man raid.

Priests can help paladins clean it off. Use this trinket then.

Dropped for me today. 53 Elemental Shammy. I was with 6 level 60s from my guild who had better gear so it was a free roll for me. Saves alot of mana for an elemental shaman.

This is awesome for mages! The damage bonus is quite good for a trinket, and you can for example save lots of mana when you AoE. Let's say you do 10 IAE's in those 10 secs this trinket usage lasts. That would simply save you 1000 mana. This aint "mainly for priests" as many keep saying. Mages have equal rights on loot priority if this drops.

The actual amount of mana you can save is dependant on the number of spells you can cast

Since 1.5 seconds is the fastest spell castable, you'll only be able ot get 6 1.5 second spells cast

Which is of course 600 mana saved maximum.

What i am curious about however, is how this trinket works with a paladins Illumination

In theory, when a paladin crits a heal when spec'ed with Illumination, they receive back they mana they spent.

Now what i'm curious to know, is if they were using this trinket, and started spamming Flash of light, and critting...

Not only would flash of light be next to manaless (because it only costs 140 mana base @ lvl 60), critting with it would quite possibly generate 100 mana!

If any paladin can confirm this, that'd be great.

Well... Mages with 5/5 in Arcane Explosion will be able to cast A.E. instantly and only using 1 second per spell and there 1000 mana saved.
So therefore i take it mages will be equally allowed to roll on this as most other casters.

put it in bwl, make it epic, give it a 2min cool down, increase the dmg to 30, and make it last 20seconds. Man that would so own

Excellent trinket for a Moonkin Druid. In playing one, I often found myself casting Moonfire on nearly every target (after threat has been established, of course). It's a secondary method for AoE, next to Hurricane. If you use this trinket first, you'll have a lot more mana to spare when casting all those Moonfires.

I just looted this off Ambassador Flamelash in BRD. I used it shortly thereafter in the pull right before the MC Attunement stone where you have to pull three Fire Elementals. I have reduced Greater Heal cost (-15% talent) and with this, my Greater Heal would only cost 363 mana. I was able to heal everyone in my group with this in ten seconds. That's about 6,000 (not sure if any heals crit) healing in 10 seconds for about 1453 mana (I have 4.5k total at level 53 now).

I'm satisfied.

I'm surprised at how much decent loot there is in BRD, considering it's a relatively low level instance.

Too bad the cooldown is 15mins.

I prefer to use Briarwood Reed over this trinket most of the time, only equipping this for prolonged fights where i know the lower mana cost for spells would be handy.

I got this the other day. I must say I think it makes the diffence between having mana all the way through a boss fight and running out before the end. Particularly if you use arcane power.

With this on a cleanse from paladins would cost 20 mana and i can easy use 8 or 9 of those in 10secs getting me a 800-900 mana reduces not bad at all.

Flash heal would cost 40 mana and casting 5-6 of saving 500-600 mana again not bad.

And the +healing would just make it even better so not a bad at all trinket.

ZOMG this trinket with Scrolls of binding light is the best duel trinket combo in game. all you have to do is activate your scrolls of binding light then activate burst of knowledge and with my 450+healing gear using rank 5 flash heal its costing me 15 mana and healing the tank on average of 900 hp every second for 10 seconds. now think about that.

Really the main purpose of this trinket is the +damage. There are not many other straight out +damage trinkets out there.

The ability is really not all that great at a 15 minute cooldown. When spamming IAE it saves me 600 mana, which is alright, but not worth the trinket slot.

In short, the +damage is the purpose of this trinket, not the mana.

I've had this on my Druid for a while now, but to be honest there are better things. With a 15 minute cooldown it doesn't seem worthwhile for me.

If I moonfire spam I can get about 1 free moonfire for every four I shoot. Eh...not really worth it. Unless of course you're a mage/lock and like the 14 to damage and healing.

Thats funny that you say you got it in DM, when the only mob ingame to ever drop it according to alla is Ambassador Flamelash in Blackrock Depths.. ~10% chance...

I suppose that the 14,674 recorded drops from wow reader might be mistaken.. but I would bet that you are wrong instead.

yeah. i think i got this in dm as well. but not off the prince. i have never killed the prince, so...

also, i didnt have wowreader when i got mine.
