Note: With good DPS it is actually possible to skip the submerge and save your raid the trouble of dealing with this mechanic.

You CAN face pull Ragnaros by walking too closely to him after a wipe by the way. Felt like I should mention this, as our tank walked right up thinking it didn't pull and we wiped due to afk players.

"Ranged players should be stacked in pairs of 2 all around the room to mitigate as much Lava Burst damage as possible."

"In addition, players caught in the blast radius will be displaced and because of this you have to emphasize proper positioning when setting up to pull Ragnaros."

I'm unsure who wrote this, but notice the recommendation to stack 2 people together means 1 person will inevitably be knocked up. Rags range table is so absolutely massive that you can easily utilize the room to ensure each person has their own place to stand. In other words, nobody should ever be knocked in the air on this fight. If someone is being tossed then positioning needs adjustment.

Take an extra 5 minutes to RP positioning and assign heals and this fight becomes a joke.

"For tanks this mechanic represents the main reason to bring fire resistance gear to the fight, it's possible for you to resist each wave of this ability and solo tank the boss until dead. " Some people on reddit observed the knock back has nothing to do with Fire Resistance. Can someone input more about this?

Unfortunately the boss does not activate Hunter's traps, even when they are placed right in the centre of his body mass, as 30 July 2024 - SoD (phase 4).
