The following zones have no Alliance-friendly flight points: Badlands, Silverpine Forest, Swamp of Sorrows, Tirisfal Glades.

WoW Classic Alliance Ships and Neutral Ship Routes

There are three Alliance ship routes and one Neutral ship. Two only operate within the East Kingdoms, and two are cross-continental.

Rut'theran Village > Auberdine runs from Rut'theran Village in Teldrassil to Auberdine in Darkshore. The ship leaves from the dock just ahead as you zone in from Darnassus at /way 55.5, 93, and arrives at the northern dock in Auberdine at /way 33.2, 40.2. There is no NPC in Rut'theran village to direct you to the dock, but it's hard to miss.

Auberdine < > Menethil Harbor runs from Auberdine in Darkshore in Kalimdor to Menethil Harbor in The Wetlands in East Kingdoms. It leaves from the southern dock in Auberdine at /way 32.7, 43.7 and arrives at the northern dock in Menethil, located at /way 4.7, 57. In Auberdine, there is a dock worker, Thamarian, who stands between the docks and can point you in the right direction if you forget which dock is which. In Menethil, the dock worker at the northern dock Don Pompa confirms the correct dock for this route.

Menethil Harbor < > Theramore also runs between East Kingdoms and Kalimdor. It leaves from the southern dock in Menethil at /way 5, 63, and arrives at the central dock in Theramore in Dustwallow Marsh at /way 71, 56. Adam Lind is the dock worker at the southern Menethil dock who confirms the ship destination; even though Theramore only has one working dock and one ship route, Decedra Willham is on hand to tell you where the ship is going anyway.

Be aware that there is a third ship in Menethil Harbor that's permanently docked in the middle. Don't bother getting on that boat; it's not going anywhere.

Booty Bay < > Ratchet is the only Neutral ship in Azeroth, and runs between East Kingdoms and Kalimdor between neutral goblin towns. Both Alliance and Horde can use this ship. The dock in Ratchet is located at /way 63.6, 38.7, and the dock in Booty Bay is at /way 26, 73.2.

This is a safe ship for both sides -- at least on PvE servers. This may be the more dangerous route on PvP. Alliance players wishing to cross continents may find the ship from Menethil Harbor to Theramore a safer way to get to Kalimdor.

Travel times are not the same for the destination and return. It may be tides, favorable winds, or just the routes the ships take when they change directions.

Ships spend 1 minute docked, at each stop so the total route time is calculated as docking once at each end. If you just get to a dock and see the ship leaving, add the Destination and Return Trip numbers, add 1 minute, and you'll know when the ship will be back.

Deeprun Tram

Deeprun Tram is an underground train that runs between Stormwind and Ironforge. You can access it in Stormwind through the portal in the Dwarven District at /way 60,12, and in Ironforge through the portal in Tinker Town at /way 72, 50.

There are two tracks that run opposite one another - 1:10 apart. If you get off a train at one end, the other train will show up in 1 minute 10 seconds.

The train stops for 10 seconds to load and unload passengers, and the trip between Stormwind and Ironforge takes 1 minute.

Not only is the tram run scenic (the underwater section is not to be missed), but it's faster and cheaper than flying between the cities. The flight between Stormwind and Ironforge costs and takes 3:30, three times as long as the trip from end to end in Deeprun Tram.

The Horde has 17 faction flight points and 2 neutral flight points in Kalimdor. The neutral flight points are usable by both Horde and Alliance and are marked with yellow pips.

WoW Classic Horde Zeppelin Routes

There are three zeppelin towers and three zeppelins for Horde characters to use. Two zeppelins are used to cross between Kalimdor and East Kingdoms, and the third traverses the length of East Kingdoms. Zeppelins are free to use.

Since each of the three zeppelin towers in Durotar, Tirisfal Glades, and Stranglethorn Vale all service two zeppelin routes, you may be confused as to which one goes where. If you forget, there are two Zeppelin Masters on each tower, and if you ask, they will tell you where the zeppelin on that platform goes.

Grom'gol, Stranglethorn Vale zeppelin tower

Orgrimmar < > Undercity leaves from the south platform on the zeppelin tower at /way 50.8, 13.6 in Durotar, east of the entrance to Orgrimmar. The zeppelin master is Frezza.

In Tirisfal Glades, the zeppelin arrives and returns to Orgrimmar on the west platform of the tower at /way 61, 59, on the hill southeast of Brill and near the road leading into Undercity. The zeppelin master is Zapetta.

Ogrimmar < > Grom'gol Base Camp leaves from north platform of the Durotar zeppelin tower. The zeppelin master is Snurk Bucksquick.

In Stranglethorn Vale, the zeppelin tower is located at /way 31.5, 29.6 in Grom'gol Base Camp. The Orgrimmar zeppelin arrives and leaves from the south platform, and the zeppelin master is Nez'raz.

Undercity < > Grom'gol Base Camp leaves from the east platform of the zeppelin tower in Tirisfal Glades. The zeppelin master is Hin Denburg. (I'm sure it's safe. Really).

It arrives in Stranglethorn Vale at the same tower in Grom'gol Base Camp, northern platform. The zeppelin master is Squibby Overspeck.

Travel times are not the same between trip legs; this may have to do with simulated wind patterns or simply the route the zeppelin has to take to approach the correct platform.

Zeppelins remained docked for 1 minute between arrival and departure. If you see a zeppelin leaving, you can add the two route times plus 1 minute to estimate the time it will return.

WoW Classic Neutral Ship Routes

Like the Alliance, the Horde has safe access to the one neutral ship in Azeroth -- at least on PvE servers. This may be the more dangerous route on PvP servers; Horde players wishing to go to Booty Bay may wish to take a zeppelin from Orgrimmar to Grom'gol Base Camp instead.

Best WoW Classic Travel Add-Ons

EZCoordinates: displays player coordinates on both your minimap and map, and cursor coordinates on the main map.
Inflight Classic: simple taxi flight timer mod that learns flight times and tells you how long it takes to get to your destination.
HandyNotes_FlightMasters: adds the location of all flight masters to the map and minimap. Flight masters you have not yet discovered appear in red. Requires HandyNotes.
HandyNotes_TravelGuide: shows portal, boat, and zeppelin location on your map and minimap. Requires HandyNotes.
Questie: Not a travel mod per se, but one feature is built-in coordinates. Excellent quest helper.
TomTom: personal navigation assistant. Be sure to select the Classic version (under Recent Files).
TomTom Flight Masters Classic: adds TomTom waypoints for Flight Masters. Requires TomTom.

There is a marker on Un'goro Crater, but there's nothing said about a flight path there.

Tiny mistake in the section about WoW Classic Alliance Ship Routes

"Menethil Harbor < > Theramore is the only Alliance ship that runs between East Kingdoms and Kalimdor."

This is true in Retail, but not in Classic - as mentioned in the paragraph above, there Menethil - Auberdine as well. Removing the word 'only' would make the statement correct.

Trivia: You can run through the Deeprun tunnel. Pointless unless you want time to stop and look around the middle section.

Very helpful, thank you. The Alliance flight point in Felwood is actually "Talonbranch Glade" (here listed as "Thalanaar"). Similarly, the Alliance FP in Feralas listed as "Talonbranch Glade" is actually "Thalanaar".

Alliance can also ride the Horde Zepplin.
Here's how. It will take 2 deaths.

1. If 50 or under, take off all gear to save on repair bills for gear damage, because you will die. (Stealth will be very limited).
2. Sprint, or run as fast as you can up the stairs. The four level 60 guards should've killed you by now.
3. As a ghost, get back to your body on the stairs but don't resurrect yet. Wait for the zepplin to arrive.
4. When it arrives, resurrect, get onto the zepplin. Then be killed by the guards on top of the stairs, near entrance to Zepplin (if you can stay alive, great, but unlikely).
5. Now as a ghost, just wait. You will see your corpse flying off the map in Azeroth as the zepplin leaves. There's no possible way for you catch up to your corpse.
6. You will rez, automatically, on the boat as it arrives on the other continent - zoned!

Tanaris Alliance Flight Path is at 50,29 in Gadgetzan. Map lists 41,29. Only death lies at those coordinates.

Above Renata seems surprised by the Request Stop button. In Vanilla (and forever until WoD), we could always get off at the next stop by logging off and on. I used this a lot as I was forever going to the wrong place. The change in WoD was twofold - 1) add button, 2) remember the flight itinerary during logoff/on. I guess Blizz thought adding the button was easier than restructuring the end to end flight plan code. So Classic functionality is identical to Vanilla except that the button replaces logoff/on.

Maybe worth to menion, but in Moonglade (Nighthaven) there's a Druid only Flight Path, going to Rut'theran Village in Teldrassil for Alliance and Thunder Bluff in Mulgore for Horde. Druid only Flight Path is at about 44,45.

I had my Night Elf run the long distance from Darkshore to Stormwind and wanted to make sure I picked up all the FPs on the way... definitely got enough of that trip back in the original vanilla WoW. :) Looks like just one FP per, uh, "country"? I'm still wondering when Blizzard will allow us to dismount mid-flight from the flight paths. I can't count the number of times the flight path goes directly over a mob I need that's quickly dying, but I have to sit there and watch as I pass over it...

There is a short, round-trip boat ride in Feralas for the Alliance, which runs from a dock on the Forgotten Coast to Feathermoon Stronghold and back. Mainly useful for getting to and from Feathermoon Stronghold without getting wet, it is still a boat in travel.
