Do you have to complete steps 1 & 2 first, or can you go straight to Ratchet and get the quest?

Comment by Jacob130103

Will be nice when someone makes video guide on it :)

Comment by Midnight2117

Anyone have an issue getting the correct dialogue? have potion and 150 tailoring and i cant get it.

Comment by chilinggggg

Has anyone tried doing this all in one raid? Like get the scale, hearth to ratchet, hand in quest, get summoned back, then find the box? If not I'll try tonight.

Comment by Dainn

Just talked with the dead twilight cultist with the elixir, and after end conversation, nothing happened. Would love to know if I did something wrong

Comment by Ayzeex

Is Old Serra'kis' corpse deep in the raid? Or can you run in there (stealth maybe) to get to it?

Comment by RaikonPT

I'm atm on the raid live on stream near the chest and the chest won't let me loot it i click on it and it does nothing. I have everything done. Is it bugged?

Comment by OxenClub

If you are like me and accidentally crafted Void-Touched Leather Gauntlets on a rogue, do not fret as you can loot The Box again and gain a 2nd shard.

You will need to go back to the Blackfathom Deeps raid and loot The Box. It was in the same place and I was able to do this without issue on a cleared raid lockout (and looted some Giant Clams).

Repeat the final steps of taking The Box to the light shard in Alterac Mountains, behind Ravenholdt Manor and use the item to destroy it. You'll be given another Shard of the Void and be able to craft ~~the correct piece~~ a second void armor piece. Talking to the Shadowy Figure again was not required.

At the time of writing this, I would imagine you can repeat this process indefinitely and craft all 4 void pieces, if you have the relevant profession.

Comment by tandain

So can this be completed without having to kill anything? All we need is a cleared raid lockout?

Comment by Riketta

It's a joke? Everyone has their craft epics, and alchemy only serves them? And alchemists can’t even get a trinket for 5 Spirit?

Comment by Venan2

I am kind of disappointed that there is no item for Warlock Tanks. Given that they are adding those they should definetly have a cloth item for Warlock Tanks given that they have 2 for leather.

Comment by Arktane

Thanks Baelko, this is a good guide :)

Comment by badfrend

On the last step I clicked the wrong text dialogue and now seem to be locked. Is there a known workaround?

Comment by PoisonxIvy

If you're looking for the path to the crystal once you get to Alterac Mountains (through the cave), head to 84.53, 24.71 and then go down and to the left. Congrats on your epic craft!

Comment by morbik

I looted it by myself after we killed all bosses, but I'm wondering, can multiple people loot the chest per lockout?

Comment by Horcruxis

the shadowy figure reminds me a lot Xal'atath with her being an elf and having a curvy dagger, tho idk why she would be in classic sod lol. Could be kinda cool if they just converge the background story of sod to the war within though im here for it

If you are 5/7 lockout, so Kelris trash is alive, I found a video of an aggro reset spot near the water by Kelris - GL! If you are a mage, get to this spot. De-aggro and then you can sheep the mob in the water that is blocking the under water cave. Took a few tries, but got it solo on a 5/7 lockout.

Items say BOP, do I need to be LeatherWorker to use purple gloves?

Comment by Wizhuang

What if I accidentally select the wrong option? Will I still be able to learn the recipe? How can I fix this?

Comment by kpaxlol

Good guide. Where can I upvote?

Comment by SlivTaMere

If like me, you didn't see the link to a video to reach The Powerful Source of The Light (step 5), there is a path at 74.55, 24.52 in Hillsbrad Foothills leading to Ravenholdt Manor. In front of the manor, take a right, across the training field, go down a little bit in the mountain then sharp left and start climbing.

Do not go to Chillwind Point, there is no path.

Comment by Surfelps

I completed all the quests, learned the new recipes, and got the epic tailoring feet. After getting it, I talked to the NPC again and responded differently. She doesn't talk to me anymore.
Will this harm me? Do you recommend I ask Blizzard for help? I don't need the NPC anymore because I've already learned the recipes. But since I responded differently later, she doesn't speak anymore. I do not know what to do.

I just want to be useful too =)

If I don't get the right dialog can I try again, or what do I do?

Comment by batossai89

Just so you know if you die while talking to the NPC it bricks you and you can't learn the recipes.
So ya know if your on a pvp server dont go without friends.
Because there's griefers that play this game that only get enjoyment from ruining other players days.

Comment by fdf86

Does anyone know what happens if you drop the profession after equipping the void-touched gear?

Comment by Soaptastesok

This is a guide on how to craft gear for both Alliance and Horde.

In order to begin this questline, you must be level 100 in either Leatherworking, Blacksmithing, or Tailoring. Once you've completed the questline you will unlock the recipes for all 3 professions in case you decide to change your mind in the future.

Step 1: Purchase a from the AH. They are created by Alchemists, which can be learned by using .

Step 2: Fly to The Zoram Strand in Ashenvale, then go to coordinates . There you will find a . Use your previously purchased elixir and speak to him. WARNING: the elixir buff is lost upon death, so make sure there are no enemy players around to grief you.

Step 3: Enter Blackfathom Deeps, and clear up to the second boss , the giant sea turtle. On his platform you will find the interactable corpse of . Interact with it to receive your .

Step 4: Collect the following materials for the next quest: 5 gold, 40x , 5x , and 2x .

Step 5: Go to Rachet in The Barrens, and speak with . She will give you the quest . Hand in the materials previously mentioned to receive your trinket.

Step 6: Return to Blackfathom Deeps. Just before entering room, jump in to the water to the left. Toward the back of the cave under water, you will find an . Loot it to receive .

Step 7: Go to Hillsbrad Foothills and enter the cave located at . When you enter Ravenholdt Manor, turn right, up the mountain. There you will find a large glowing crystal called the Shard of Pure Light. Interact with The Box in your inventory when you are close to the crystal. Doing so will give you a , which is one of the reagants required to craft the epic item.

Step 8: Next to the crystal will have spawned a . Interact with this NPC and she will teach you every recipe for the Phase 1 SoD epic items.

If you make a mistake, or want to craft a different item, you can restart from Step 6 to gather another Shard reagent. Note, however, that you can only have 1 equipped at a time.

Comment by limpnipples

Does anyone know if the Speak with the Dead buff has to still be active to loot the scales from Old Serra'kis?

Comment by n5txuml33

Finding the Crystal can be quite difficult, head east from the manor through a small break in the hills, you need to go down the hill to what appears to be a dead end, but when you reach the edge you can continue upward to the north.

Comment by Zedsdead28

PSA: if you want a second shard go to booty bay Riz Xizzix for a shard, don't have to do any of the process again.

Comment by Ironpowered

The box container is disappeared in P2, but you can get the shard from the new vendor in booty bay. But in this way, u cant trigger the event in hillsbrad to make the trainer appear, BUT from now, the trainer is always at there! I switched to LW from BS in P1, and I unlearned the BS recipe also, but luckily, they thought about this and i could relearn it after i switched back to BS :)

Comment by Grethro

If you are curious and think there is something more to this SoD quest...

All I have been able to find is If you click "I want nothing from you leave me be" The shadowy figure says something along the lines of, "Fine you know where to find me when you change your mind." The shadowy figure doesn't despawn.

If you talk to the Shadowy figure again, " She smirks" and "asks if you were able to destroy it yet".

You can then continue the conversation and your only option is to say "Fine, show me what you were going to show me".

From there I assume you can learn the crafting recipes.

I clicked goodbye though out of an abundance of curiosity/fool-hardy search to find Horde Paladins and Alliance Shamans unlock quests, I took it back to the Tauren Stonetorch to see if his dialogue changed and it did not.

The search for the Secret to SoD Sunwalkers continues.
