Three Tanks should be lined up on the live side, facing the three "altar" bone structures on the wall, as this is where adds will spawn. A Tank should quickly pick up any spawning adds, as they will quickly be pelted by spellcasters, who might rip aggro. On the undead side, Tanks don't really need to be assigned to specific bone piles but should instead just move around the room as spawns come over, indicated by the flying spirits.

After enough time has expired, roughly 4 minutes and 30 seconds, Gothik the Harvester will come down from the balcony and join the raid in the live side first. You will want the Main Tank in the live side room to quickly get as much threat as possible. After about 15 seconds, Gothik the Harvester will teleport to the undead side. He will teleport back again 15 seconds later, and so on every 15 seconds after that. Once he reaches 30% health, the gate separating the two sides will open, allowing for the entire raid to focus Gothik down.

Melee DPS

Melee need to stay spread out on the undead side, as there are five total spawn locations for the undead adds. Rogues and Warriors should look to stun any adds on the undead side that can't be zerged down quickly after spawning. Pay close attention to the flying spirits, as it will indicate on which bone pile the next spawn will take place.

Ranged DPS

Hunters are usually on the live side, because both Frost Trap and Freezing Trap can be used as crowd control. Mages and Warlocks will also be on the live side, as the undead side's adds are immune to their spell damage. On the live side, Ranged DPS should focus primarily on crowd control, ensuring the undead side doesn't get overwhelmed with adds by too quickly killing those on the live side. In general, keep things crowd controlled until the undead side is ready for more adds.

Healers

Healers should be evenly split amongst both sides, favoring more Priests on the live side, as they can use Shackle Undead on the Deathknights. Healers don't have to do anything particularly special during the encounter. They just need to keep up all 3 Tanks on the live side and ensure raid heals are covered on the undead side, as the AoE damage can get overwhelming if there are too many adds up.

Gothik The Harvester Notable Classes

Priests and Mages are extremely valuable for their crowd control abilities, which they will use on the live side of the encounter. Most mobs on the live side are susceptible to one of the following spells: Polymorph, Frost Nova, and/or Shackle Undead. This is especially valuable because the live side will not want to kill mobs too quickly, or it will send too many mobs to the undead side, overwhelming that half of the raid.

Rogues and Warriors are imperative to this fight for the crowd control abilities they have for the undead side. Most mobs on this side can be stunned by either a Rogue's Cheap Shot and Kidney Shot or a Warrior's Intercept. This is great because most mobs on the undead side are immune to most schools of magic, meaning the majority of the raid's Melee will be on the undead side anyway.
