Paladin Healing Guide – WoW Classic

Holy Shock builds form the basis of most healing builds, providing a strong burst of instant damage or healing suitable for PvE and PvP. Multiple variants exist, picking up Improved Concentration Aura for caster groups or Blessing of Sanctuary for tank mitigation.

Protection:

Holy Shield builds dip into all three trees in order to pick up Consecration and Benediction, though there are several choices which can be made to increase threat generation or survivability. While their AoE threat in dungeons can be very strong, the lack of a taunt and ranged pull are Protection's biggest weakness, though both can be overcome through proper positioning and threat management. Mana is also a unique consideration among the tanking specializations, causing the Paladin to frequently downrank spells, prioritize MP5, and have to drink between pulls.

Retribution:

Repentance builds are viable in PvP builds capable of dealing damage while still supporting their allies with several different buffs and auras to increase armor or elemental resistance depending on the situation. Variants investing into the Protection tree for Reckoning provide extra burst, but gives up the defensive benefits of Repentance and Spiritual Focus in order to do so. While PvE variants exist, they're typically seen as below average damage dealers and frequently scorned.

Rank 2 of divine shield allows a total of 12 seconds of invulnerability, two seconds more than rank 1.

You wrote that paladins "do not have any movement speed increases", paladins who choose the persuit of justice talent in the ret talent tree get a 8% movement speed increase. This helps to some extent when you are catching people who run away.

Also why is only engineering suggested, other than the gathering professions. Riding is just vastly cheaper on a paladin than other classes, so only getting gathering professions for mount would be waste. There is plenty of other professions which could suit nicely. If you get for example alchemy you can craft LIP and have it act as a second BoP

Hmm... Without any harrassive.
You know that holy pallies no need the human bonus spirit, cause lack of spirit gear? Also pallies' overall no need spirit, cause critical effects and downranking.

IMO this is another copy paste without research, that i mentioned in comment at original wowhead writer post.

it seems a few things missing on these guides in classic spirit kicks in for mp and health after not casting for 5 sec. but you can wand or auto attack. thats why you should wait to judge on a seal as long as you can to get a few tics of that. we could also get into force procs and stat mins some more. big thing with ret if you hit goals on stat you can make your dps a lot higher. also main tank as prot is not easy but they make great off tanks and trash tanks. best to pare a prot with a ret. done right the war will need taunt to take thing from the paly. last note do have lay hands they can use not as well as shield wall or what not. i am hoping for this run in classic that we all learn how the other classes and specs can make thing go smother and faster if you use them right.

So guys, now to the paladins. Paladins are really good healers if you skill right, because if you put five points in the talent in the holy tree you get 100% mana back if you crit with a heal.

I do not like this page for BiS. You do not show the next BiS or optional like the druid BiS page shows. Also this is out of date and not 100% accurate, I find it hard to believe that Phase 2 BiS off hand is not the Lei of Lifegiver from AV exalted. Can we get these changes incorporated so when we are in a Raid loot council we can compare some classes to another more efficiently.
