Soloing Zul'Gurub Naked for Fun and Profit as a Paladin

is a Paladin main who has worked tirelessly to find the best way to farm gold in Classic WoW. A month ago, he was making 120 gold per hour soloing Zul'Farrak, but soon set his sights on even greater returns - soloing Zul'Gurub. In his

, he soloed 10 packs in 15 minutes, netting around 300 gold an hour, focusing on the same Tiger and Crocolisk packs which

. After receiving criticism over the defense capped gear set used to accomplish the run, Tedj took it a step further and did the
entire run naked
!
Citing his "Mage-like personality disorder" (and ability to cast Rank 1
Blizzard
, aka
Consécration
), Tedj decided to try the naked run in order to prove that a Paladin could do the run much in the same way a Mage would and that 400 Defense wasn't really necessary. Although he believes that stacking Defense and Spell Power with potions in place of MP5 might be the best strategy to cut the run time from 15 minutes down to 12, this run was done wearing only

for emergencies, although it does require an epic mount and some very precise jumps to keep ahead of the mobs.
Unlike a Mage who can freeze and slow enemies for safety, killing everything as a Paladin is much trickier. After a few minutes of pulling mobs, the mobs are kited to the main bridge, where he repeatedly jumps on and off of the railing in order to abuse the mobs pathing. By tricking the mobs into constantly turning around, it keeps them inside his

, while also keeping him safe from harm, although the timing needs to be precise in order to continually refresh Consecration without getting eaten. Bombs and other consumables can also be used to speed up the process, though that also adds a greater cost to the run, eating into the profits. While the run may look easy and the actual killing portion seems boring, it also carries a lot of risk, as missing any of the jumps and falling into the water is a near certain death sentence without a bubble or
