Necrolord Soulbind, Bonesmith Heirmir, can can actually be a detriment in the Maw.
As reported
by Redditor DevStef, Bonesmith Heirmir's first trait,
Rêveries forge-nées
, which is the only trait on the first row and thus required if you are using Heirmir, can actually lose you
Stygie
if you are careless or unlucky.
The pertinent part of the trait:
Rêveries forge-nées
: Upon death, your armor continues to fight, allowing you to fight for an additional 10 sec. During this time, your damage and healing done is reduced by 50% and you cannot receive healing.
As DevStef found, to their chagrin, if one falls or is knocked off the the edge of the Maw while in the fighting armor stage of the ability, one will a die a second time, and lose more
Stygie
, with no chance to retrieve the
Stygie
from the initial death. Ouch!
In the comments, other players reported similarly unfortunate detriments from this initial trait.
Nihil6 notes that having this happen in Toghast or an M+ run does add to your death count.
Opening-Outrageous added that if you are a Warlock, your Soulstone use can be compromised by this trait.
Overall, taking Bonesmith Heirmir as your Soulbind may be worth the risk, but stay clear of those edges.
