Last time we had the Freehold Challenge
, which was lots of fun, even if many classes bested the challenge (some easier than others).
However the Stone Legion challenge is A LOT harder. Freehold became easier after the first Captain died, in this scenario the challenge will just get harder, because the Stone Legion Goliaths will grow in power every 10 seconds, thanks to Faim dévorante
This makes our participants having to focus more on DPS, since stalling won't save them. Kiting is also a weaker strategy, since the Goliaths move faster (60-80%) than basic movement speed. The last thing to keep in mind is that the NPCs will jump onto a player, stunning them and doing massive damage (scaling with their dmg buff) - Festin féroce
The challenge, will just as Freehold have 3 DPS characters from each class, and we will see which class will manage the best! Rules are no consumables, no heroism or player battle resses during the fight. Also stay within the Arena.
Each % of a Goliaths HP you bring down, you get a point. And an additional 50 points for beating one of them.
I will find people with atleast 220+ ilvl to make the challenge a bit more even. Each team is free to try as many times as they wish (but a minimum of 5 attempts). SPOILERS -----------------
Hunters: They had some issue with pet aggro, which kinda screwed them up. Aswell as the Leap-Frenzy combo, which obliterated one of the Hunters. Somehow this attempt was their best still!
Priest: Priest had a solid run, their insane healing was able to outsustain the Goliaths for a while, allowing them to focus damage. That was until the NPCs grew too powerful...
Mage: Mages did really well, it also looked cool, because of an insane amount of blinks and survival cooldowns (Mirror Image, Ice Block, Cauterize). Some unlucky positioning and leaps were the end of them...
Warriors: They fought hard but it wasn't enough, good try with the kite plays. Rough challenge for Warriors
Paladin: Talk about insane burst, that along with immunities got them very far but once those ran out and the goliath grew too strong there wasn't much left they could do.
Druid: Clever strategy to split up the Goliaths, for single target from Convoke. Force of Nature wouldn't taunt them sadly, otherwise that would have helped out a lot...
Demon Hunter: Demon Hunters defensives for this is a bit meh, most of them are tied to RNG. A single unlucky crit from a Goliath could easily one shot them.
Warlock: Warlocks were fun to try with, they went all kind of specs to try and optimize their performance. Destro had some survival issues aswell as weak damage while kiting. Hence why they went the other 2 specs!
Death Knight: They might have weak survival in PvP, but in PvE without any nerfs they truely shine, especially Death Strike. Having some of the highest burst with army helps aswell!
Rogue: I am surprised at Rogues performance, took them many tries but it ended up quite well. Clever Evasions...
Shaman: Earth Elementals buys them some time, but they don't last too long. Especially lategame. They also had some aggro issues during most of their attempts. Anyhow the final results were really good!
Monk: Talk about insane cleave aswell as single target... Some tank trinkets helped their weak spot (survival). A masterful display!
