The location of
Infiltration ennemie - Préface
has been discovered, and the name hints at the presence of the Nathrezim.
Infiltration ennemie - Préface
is contained in
Journal perdu
, an object located in
Spire of the Unseen Guests
in Revendreth. There's already some speculation connecting Sire Denathrius to the Nathrezim, and the location offers another clue.
In the
Ashbringer
comics, the Dreadlord Balnazzar slew Saidan Dathrohan, using his remains to impersonate him to run the Scarlet Crusade. Before Dathrohan dies, they have the following exchange:
Balnazzar: My kind are called Nathrezim. Dreadlords, in your tongue. Perhaps Thal'kituun would be more fitting. It means Unseen Guest in our language.
Dathrohan: Who--? You...are Legion.
Balnazzar: Fitting because I have existed here, between the world of the living and the dead, awaiting a moment such as this, under the very noses of the Scourge, without their slightest suspicion.
In this brief exchange, we see that the Nathrezim appear to have their own goals beyond the Burning Legion, acting in cunning ways that avoid notice. But the most noteworthy part is the mention of the
Unseen Guest
--the name they call themselves which is
also
the location for
Infiltration ennemie - Préface
. The book documents how a mysterious group has masterminded a cosmic-wide battle, with strategies to weaken Life, Order, Disorder, Light, and Void. We as players have participated in these battles, most recently the defeat of the Burning Legion and N'Zoth, but have not suspected the Nathrezim of masterminding multiple conflicts.
The final page of the book states "As ever, we shall serve as your unseen hand. We will poison every host foolish enough to invite us into their midst." They are an invisible lethal guest, who exploit their host's weakness once they have their trust.
Balnazzar's story is also notable as he's linked to Sylvanas--Varimathras offered to kill his brother Balnazzar in return for Sylvanas sparing his life, but Balnazzar's execution was faked. This allowed Balnazzar to set his new plan in motion to ultimately create the Scarlet Crusade and Varimathras to remain close to Sylvanas in Undercity. Balnazzar then returns in Legion, leading an attack on Netherlight Temple only to be defeated by Silver Hand and Temple forces, aided by the Holy Dreadlord Lothraxion.
But Balnazzar's return in Legion may have parallels to his story in the
Ashbringer
comic, with another defeat cloaked in deception, as
Infiltration ennemie - Préface
implies that a nathrezim has pretended to convert to the Light. If this is Lothraxion, then Balnazzar's death was part of a calculated plan to gain the loyalty of the Silver Hand and Army of the Light, similar to Varimathras pretending to kill Balnazzar to gain Sylvanas' trust.
Infiltration ennemie - Préface
is filled with revelations with many hints pointing to the Nathrezim working with the Jailer to overthrow the other cosmic forces (should this be true, and not another layer of deception!).
