The amount of
Ve’nari
Reputation that you can get each day depends on how efficient you are with Eye of the Jailer. In this article, we'll go over how much Rep and Eye of the Jailer each activity gives, highlighting the most efficient things to do in the Maw and why you should avoid killing any extra mobs.
Ve'nari Reputation
Eye of the Jailer Explained
Each Rank of the Eye of the Jailer bar consists of 1,000 Points. As you have 5 levels of Eye of the Jailer, that means you have 5,000 Points to play with before the bar is capped. Any additional Eye of the Jailer that you accumulate will be thrown out, as you're already capped, this is useful later.
Since the base UI doesn't show the exact amount of Eye of the Jailer points, we recommend using
this Weakaura
by Permok to show your exact progress.
Once you reach Eye of the Jailer 5, you instantly get a debuff that reduces your
Stygie
and Ve'nari reputation gains by 100%. However, this debuff
doesn't affect quest turn-ins
.
Eye of the Jailer & Reputation Efficiency Chart
Here is a chart showing all the ways to gain Ve'nari Reputation and Eye of the Jailer. The Efficiency column shows compares the amount of Ve'nari reputation that you get from the activity versus the amount of Eye of the Jailer you get. The higher the Efficiency, the better it is to do!
Some of these Eye of the Jailer values are based on the fact that you get Stygia from them and not rep. Once you cap out your reputation and start going for Stygia, your priorities will change! For now, many players need to gain reputation.

There are two other ways to gain Eye of the Jailer: Assassins and Abductors.
Eye of the Jailer Tier 3: Assassins
Whenever your Assassin spawns, you will instantly get
Marque du Geôlier
- a 10 second debuff.
Every 2 seconds, you will gain 4 Points of Eye of the Jailer
, meaning you'll get at least 40 points whenever it spawns.
This debuff refreshes whenever you take damage from the Assassin. The longer you take to kill the Assassin, the more Eye of the Jailer points you'll get. In addition, if you pull aggro on another player's Assassin, this also triggers the debuff.
Once you hit Tentative reputation with Ve'nari, you should immediately buy
Cachet de l’Invisible
which makes you immune to the
Marque du Geôlier
debuff.
Eye of Jailer Tier 4: Abductors
Whenever your Adductor grabs you, you will instantly get
Marquage d’âme
- a 20 second debuff.
Every 2 seconds, you will gain 20 Points of Eye of the Jailer
, meaning getting caught by the Abductor will grant you 400 Eye of the Jailer.
Once you hit Ambivalent reputation with Ve'nari, you should immediately buy
Talisman de stabilisation d’âme
which makes you immune to the
Marquage d’âme
debuff.
Avoid Killing Blows
For every killing blow that you perform in the Maw (except for tiny mobs), you will gain 6 Eye of the Jailer points. While this doesn't look like a lot, this will add up very quickly!
Unfortunately, because you gain 6 Points for every killing blow, this promotes a very selfish playstyle in the Maw. You may have seen many people just run past as many mobs as possible, trying to leash them instead of killing them and this is why. If you're going for reputation, you should kill as few things as possible in the Maw every day.
If you're in a group, you will also be able to share killing blows, with only one person getting the points of Eye of the Jailer, but with all of you getting completion for quests.
Efficiency to Eye of the Jailer 5
If you're planning to unlock gain the most reputation with Ve'nari per day, here's what you should do. First, you should
not complete any objective of any dailies or weeklies
until you hit Eye of the Jailer 5. Daily quests are very inefficient, and the only reason you want to do these is because quest reputation bypasses the Eye of the Jailer 5 debuff and you can throw the Eye of the Jailer gained from dailies away. More on this later.
Instead, you should prioritize filling your Eye of the Jailer Bar using Bonus Objectives, Rares, and Elite Rares. If you haven't done Wrath of the Jailer or your Beastwarren Hunt, those can be done as well. In general, prioritize objectives that you come across in the order Rares -> Elite Rares -> Bonus Objectives due to their Efficiency.
Rares
are the hardest to find due to their low health pool and longer spawn time. However, they are the most efficient if you have enough time to wait for them to spawn.
Elite Rares
are not too hard to find as you generally need a group to complete them. Players will generally announce Elite Rares in general chat.
Bonus Objectives
have a very short respawn time and are always up. However, these are not very efficient.
You can generally hit Eye of the Jailer 5 off nothing but Rares and Elites Rares in about 30-60 minutes depending on what time of day you're in the Maw.
One tip for finding an Elite Rare right off the bat: Stand in Oribos just outside the Maw and search the Group finder for a
Borr-Geth
listing! Once you're in the group, jump into the Maw and get an easy Elite Rare.
Completing Quests at Eye of the Jailer 5
Once you hit Eye of the Jailer 5, this is the time that you want to complete your daily and weekly quests. This is because the -100% Stygia and Reputation debuff will block any non-quest gains.
While searching for Rares and Elites Rares, you can start working on your Daily and Weeklies objectives to get them "1 off" completion. However,
do not complete any objectives
. Completing any objective of any daily or weekly quest will give you Eye of the Jailer.
For the
Grathalax, l’extracteur
quest, there are 2 objectives. The 1,000 Eye of the Jailer will be split among the 2 objectives and you will get 500 Eye of the Jailer when you kill
Grathalax
as that completes one objective, and 500 Eye of the Jailer when the 3rd Pain Conduit is clicked. You can safely click 2 Pain Conduits without any penalty.
Why are we doing this? Since Quests bypass the Eye of the Jailer 5 debuff, we can actually complete our quests at Eye of the Jailer 5, throwing all the extra Eye of the Jailer into the garbage. If you do this strategy on a Tuesday with 3 weekly and 3 dailies that are completed at Eye of the Jailer 5, you will essentially toss 4,900 Eye of the Jailer points into the trash since you're already capped. You essentially gain a full extra day of reputation and Stygia!
There is of course
Extermination immédiate
to watch out for at Eye of the Jailer 5, which will slowly stack to 10 over time. At 10 stacks, you will be unhealable and take minor ticking damage every second. With how slow this stacks and how little damage it does, it's actually not that big of a deal as long as you don't overpull and avoid creatures whenever possible. It does come with the upside of you being able to kill whatever you want since the 6 points of the Eye of the Jailer don't matter when you're capped! However, there is a trick as well to reset this debuff; if you leave the Maw and come back, the stacks will be reset! This is how some players have been completing their weeklies and dailies after capping Eye of the Jailer.
