Tips, Thank you for your videos and this guide. I appreciate what you and the other content providers are doing and did to help further and better the Classic Cause! Keep up the good work my dude.

Thanks for the great guide!

I really hope to get my hands on this, although most likely I won't be able to make it all the way there =(

Brilliant Mana Oil isn't currently in the game. The recipe requires Zandalar Tribe reputation to buy. It looks like it will be added in Phase 4 with Zul'Gurub.

Things that help:

Eau sacrée de Stratholme
Graine d'épineux <--- This helps a TON, it can tank like 3 waves of skeletons. It deals 100 damage per tick of AoE. It takes about 7 seconds before it starts casting.
Elixir de défense excellente
Elixir d'Intelligence supérieure <--- This is better than elixir of sages, since you probably have a spirit buff anyways.

Also bring bandages for yourself.

Be sure to pop your first mana potion when you are at ~50% mana to trigger the cooldown asap. Wand skeletons if there are only 2-3 and you are a good distance away.

Two things:
The timer is no longer 2 hours if you fail - it's either 10 or 15 min.

A friend can help you without spawning the cleaner. Your friend stands at the cave entrance. When skeleton waves spawn. A rank 4 Holy Nova works great. Just tell them not to heal or Abolish Disease. Whoever is doing the quest does that. EZ Mode and no cleaner.

Commentaire de oster

Since its not mention in this guide, also bring either Demonic Runes or Dark Runes for mana and HP. Since they dont share the same cooldown as potions.

Commentaire de PAWilds

The video says spirit tap is highly recommended, but this article says spirit tap does not proc from the enemies in the quest. Which is it?

WoW Classic (19.01.2020)

when you do the quest as a priest bring a mage with you.

If the mage stays at the little hill, where the quest giver is (mine stood 2 steps behind the questgiver) he can cast blizzard (although he does not see the mobs) and kill the skeletons (use ts3 or discord).

This is a huge mana-saver for you. Combined with the down-ranking-spells its easy to do this quest.

I've spent over 200g to get all consumables, followed this guide and countless others. I just can't do this quest. By wave 4 I'm either oom or almost dead and can't out heal the dps the archers are doing. 15 people always die, and because there is no counter I have no idea how close I'm even getting to beat it. 2-3 mobs die on the first wave ... how crappy of a player am I? I've followed everything I've read about and it feels impossible to me. I've failed it 7 times so far. Died once, but most of the time npcs die.

I am an undead shadow priest, and had to respec to holy with 21/30/0, as spirit tap is confirmed not working in classic.
The description of the run (4m 46s) that I made it through:
I had a total of 26mana per 5 seconds from gears, plus Warchief's blessing, which made it to 36mana/5s.
I brought a druid with me, he stayed in the party but just standing where the npc Eris was.
I buffed myself with all buffs I could (stamina, spirit, inner fire, shadow protection, touch of weakness), also buffs from druid: mark of the wild and thorns, and also scroll of Int IV. My max mana just reached 5k.
I consumed 3 major mana potions, 1 demonic rune. (By the time I consumed the third major mana pot, the run is closed to end.)
I used flash heal r3, renew r6, heal r2. A higher rank is suggested above but for those who lacked mana, a lower rank is preferable.
Waves 1 & 2 of peasants were ok. From wave 3, the skeletons came more often and thorns weren't enough to kill them quickly enough, I had to use holy nova r3 to kill them. If only a single one came to you, use your wand!
Power word: shield didn't work, so remember to heal yourself, greater heal r1 is a good suggestion to save mana.
I didn't use any special unit frame, just enabled friendly nameplates with (shift+v).
Good luck to all the priests!

And even more Mistakes being made here by this author who clearly doesn't know much about Priest...

1) as Powerfoxx already mentioned, Holy Water is a good reserve to have (same as Thorium Grenade and/or Sappers)
2) Dark/Demonic Rune gives you more Mana than it costs to heal you back to full life, so you should take some with you
3) instead of bringing a friend just to help you reset, you could also bring a Mage, a Paladin or two and a Druid to give you their sweet class buffs. Even a Shaman can help by putting down Manaspring Totem before the event starts
4) Elixir of Fortitude and Mighty/Major Troll's Blood Potion are a great survivability tool as well.
5) you don't need to save all ghosts, you only need to save 75% of them. so imake sure that 80% survive of each wave, instead of going oom and losing too many of the later waves. you have a reserve of 15 allowed deaths, use them.

Commentaire de SirWombaton

Although a lot of comments say to bring a friend to make the quest easier -which is definitely true- i miss the one that helps the most: find yourself another priest on this quest. Group up, take those leftover stratholme waters out of the bank, mp5-food, downrank spells and away you go. First priest accepts the quest and does the running from the gates back, second priest gets the box to start the quest as well, accepts, mustn't move any more, stays next to Eris and takes over the NPCs as they come in range.
Twice the mana, two seperate five-second-rules for regen, two completed quests first try. No additional buffs from other classes or tons of consumables. We didn't heal each other, just the NPCs, so no idea if that would have triggered the cleaner. But it wasn't necessary at all, plenty enough mana and time to stay alive for the Gate-Priest, so no need to risk it.

Commentaire de Byul

Just wanted to add some points cause I just did the quest some minutes ago. The Yéti mécanique which you get from the quest Yéti ? Y es-tu ? helped me a great deal with this quest. It attacks the melee skeletons (similar to the thornling) and I therefore was able to concentrate more on healing (which I'm not really used to cause I usually play shadow). I still used Huile d'immolation and Eau sacrée de Stratholme from time to time and I only used Nova sacrée once by accident. In the end I was able to get away with using only 2 Potion de mana majeure, 5 Huile d'immolation and 2 Eau sacrée de Stratholme having 5,4k mana and ~30 mp5.
What I find useful as well and I didn't see it mentioned: Mouseover every skill you want to use for healing and abolish disease. This will make healing the right target a lot faster. The undead bowers usually focus on some of the peasants, so heal these first. I was able to see that with the coloring of the nameplates (like it does when you pull/have aggro). It seemed to me that they mostly ignore most of the peasants and just concentrated on the ones that were already a bit lower on health.

Things I learned when doing this quest:

Respawn is actually 15 min - not 2 hrs like this writeup says.
You can't reset the encounter.* You're better served by getting in some practice and failing, versus starting fresh again.
This isn't anything like raid healing. In a raid you get raidframes. In this quest, you only get nameplates, which don't show up at max range.
Make sure "Clickthrough" is turned OFF in your tooltip addon ElvUI defaults to have friendly tooltips be un-clickable. Others may do the same.
Downranked Heal spells are your friend. The NPCs move quite slowly, so you have plenty of time to position yourself, then stand and cast. With 500 +healing, Heal Rank 1 heals for as much as Flash Rank 4, but at half the mana cost.
Use your Rune démoniaque as soon as you are missing 1500 mana. Then throw a renew on yourself - the lowest rank that will heal the damage done by the rune. Repeat when it's off cooldown.

*I say that you can't reset it because of my experience. (Maybe this reset was a thing on private servers?)
First round: My friend tried to "help" me to deliberately reset the encounter. Le Nettoyeur did spawn, but only killed my friend and disappeared (without killing me). Then I failed the quest.
Next round: I made sure to draw aggro on Le Nettoyeur with the priest. Even tough Le Nettoyeur killed the priest, Eris despawned. No way to re-do but waiting 15 min.

Commentaire de Tsaza

There's 2 big cheeses for this.

1. Someone tanking the skeletons outside the cave (feral druid with thorns, mage doing AoE)
2. Duoing it with another priest who has the trinket, remember to abandon the failed quest first.

The quest accepter will do the moving around.
The second priest in party will accept the pop up for the quest next to the NPC and stay still, don't heal the other priest but can heal/dispel NPCs.

Commentaire de ahaar

Trying this in Phase 4 SoD. Prayer of mending, circle of healing, Prayer of healing, PW:S, all dont work on the NPC's.

Commentaire de Ruuddie

Eris seems to have a 15 min respawn timer on SoD

Commentaire de carlemo

This is so crazy. You don't need all these insanely expensive consumables at all. The biggest thing you need are heavy runecloth bandages, and lots of them.

Turn on friendly nameplates (Options->Interface) and toggle it to stacking nameplates.

Then take abolish disease, heavy runecloth bandage, renew(rank 5), flash heal(rank 2), holy nova (rank 5)- or whatever ranks work for you- and set these as keys 1-5.

Now you can click on injured peasants, abolish them, and bandage them. if they are unlucky to get shot by an archer, which stops the bandaging, then you can flash heal and/or renew. But the healing throughput from bandages is absolutely tremendous. Ensure you kill nearby skeletons prior to bandaging as them hitting you or the peasants will also stop the bandaging.

If you really want though, a priest friend with the eye can stand on one of the hills to the side and- without moving- heal and abolish disease on peasants. This does not trigger the cleaner.

A mage can also position similarly and aoe on your location freely to kill skeletons.

Your helpers will often drop combat so they can drink quite often.

Commentaire de Nolt

As others have said, the timer is 15 minutes to reset.

I did this with Deep Holy spec without Holy Nova.

Civilians do not have a large health pool. I mostly used flash heal rank 1, then heal rank 1 when I had time. Flash Heal rank 7 if they're less than 20% and Renew rank 5 if they're 50% but not taking much damage.

Strat Holy Water is a must for when the enemy pack size is large, this only happened once on the run where i succeeded.
Oil of Immolate anytime 1-2 enemies pop up. Keep 10-15 on you per run just in case, you'd rather have one active than penny pinch here, trust. Takes 3 seconds before it starts damage, that's why I say to pop it as soon as an enemy pops up.

Major Mana was popped 1 min in as soon as it would give me full mana. Mid Way becomes mana punishing especially with the amount of dispells needed. Using Mana pot early will save you in the last stretch because the cooldown will have reset by then.

I used Elixir of Sages, Nightfin soup, Brilliant mana oil and Mageblood.

Took me about 5 runs until I nailed it. Some of it is RNG. Some of the civilians will die regardless of how hard you try to save them.

Good Luck and have a fun journey.
