They killed off all the boring ones. I think that they still have some non-impressive characters hanging around.
Carol. I hope they follow the comics on that one.
Hah for a second I thought you said Carl, I was gonna say Carl is awesome this season...

Not me. I don't think that the whole course of action leading up to that is appropriate for Daryl's character. I'd prefer to see her killed my his brother- that'd be drama.

Well no, but the reason she did it in the comics is just... dumb as *!@#. In the series she actually lost her daughter, so now she'd have a reason. She just seems so incredibly weak, and I don't think Daryl and her would work together at all. It does seem like the writers want it too though.
I don't think that it would "work out" long term, but I think it would be something that could start and then get abruptly cut off by her death. I do want to see them get together, from a character standpoint, but I don't expect her to last the season. I just don't see her killing herself over anything that has already happened, because it's been too long and she seems to be adjusting. She's kind of latched onto Daryl, and so unless something happens to him, or between them, I can't see her ending it. However, I do think that she'd be a good catalyst to set Daryl against his brother if he killed her. It might also be appropriate to have her believe Daryl died, and kill herself then. We all know he's not ACTUALLY going to die for some time to come- lol.

Carol survived the suicide attempt after she and Tyrese broke up, when she tried to french kiss a zombie it was for a very different and... weird, reason. IIRC she wanted to have some kind of polygamous relationship with Rick and Lori, and when they turned her down they all grew really distant from her. Obviously that ship has kind of sailed at this point in the show.
Also I seriously hope that she and Daryl don't hook up. In the comics Carol had this kind of milf thing going on, but in the show hes so old compared to him... it's gross... I know how superficial I sound, but still...

Well in the comics, Andrea and Dale hooked up, so this would be much less of an age difference.

Also I think Carol is actually filling a new role, kind of like Hershel being the new Dale and Daryl kind of taking on the role of Tyrese, shes kind of stepping into the shoes of that nurse who came over from Woodsbury, what with taking a zombie into the prison to study. so she might die during the battle for the prison

I think that Carol and Daryl being a couple is probably going to happen, but I also think that eventually she's going to play a role in setting Daryl and Merle against each other. After Carol survived alone in the prison for what seemed like a couple of days, I think that she's shown herself to be far more resilient than her comic book counterpart. Knowing that, I don't think that she'll end up trying to kill herself. That leads me to believe that, if she does die, it will be either during the final confrontation between Camp Woodbury and the Prison (which is now inevitable since Glenn and Maggie have been taken captive and have been shown as being aggressively interrogated in the preview for the next episode), or it will have something to do with Merle... maybe both.

I don't think you're going to see much, if any, suicide this far into the series. It's been like a year at this point since the world went to hell. No one has any illusions left about the world returning to normal, about what exactly is happening, about how hard surviving is and what you might have to do to stay alive. No one is still in shock about the situation, which might delay a drastic step like that. The people who would have done it already- on screen and off- already did it, and the ones who are left are survivors. I don't think that people would fight that hard for a year to survive, and then decide to end it themselves. Even in the case where they lose someone they love- they have already lost a lot of people at this point- any person still alive already went through it 10X over. I don't think that the people who have survived to this point would find something new that would push them over.
The only character types who I could see MAYBE doing it, would be the ones who were in Woodbury and so have settled back into a "normal" life, and suddenly are thrust back into the real world as it exists for everyone else.

Damn, it looks like Maggie is gonna be the one getting the Governors
hospitality
...
I know it's such an iconic scene in the comics, but I kinda hope they don't do it that way, not to Maggie, that would just be too sad. Michonne was strong enough to handle that, but not Maggie. Plus I know this is messed up, but I wanna see Rick lose his hand
Also wtf is up with Andrea @#$%ting around with the biggest douchbag of every single season. First Shane, now the Governor!

Simples, tv!Andrea is a dumbass who has the worst judgement ever.
I don't think that rape is something anyone just "handles". Maggie would probably show much more vulnerability than Michonne did, sure. But that doesn't mean it will be "handled" any better.
Also, re: Rick, I believe that's not happening. I suspect that's why Merle lost his. It's just a logistical nightmare to have the main character lose his hand.

She's attracted to dangerous men, obviously. And I agree that they shouldn't do that to Maggie. I hope they don't. I wish they wouldn't. But, they probably will... unless they can't get it past the censors.

@Patty, you finally read the comics dude?
Anyway it's true Michonne didn't really handle it all that well, nobody really can. But she is also (tied with Rick, Andrea, and Abraham) one of the strongest characters in the comics, as apposed to Maggie who is (and I'm not bashing her character) one of the weakest. Plus all she and Glenn have are each other, they didn't even get to adopt Sophia!
After all the damage the Governor did Rick still had his son and his group, Michonne still had her sword (and the voices in her head), plus she eventually found a new black guy. Plus Glenn having to listen to it happen to Michonne is different than it happening to his girlfriend. Plus I don't see Maggie showing the Governor her power tool collection...

I've read up to the prison assault, and had done so like a year ago...
I'd buy the others but they're too expensive to justify in one go, tbh.

Oh you got that big compendium thing? I got one of those for my GF for her birthday like 2 years ago. She mocked me at first then when she finished it she was going nuts demanding another one. IMO just sit and chill in a Barnes & Noble and read the other ones if you wanna catch up.

No, I bought a few of them separately. Then realised I'd spent well over £50 on them and wasn't even halfway through. If I did that I'd probably be asked to leave. ;) But I might look for online copies, although I dislike doing that for books for some reason, idk.

Honestly, since I have no comic book shop in my town, getting the newest issues online is the easiest way for me. I plan on getting all caught up though with the graphic novels again eventually lol; I have up to where the prison is overrun.

Well I guess it depends on the store, my local place doesn't care if people read in the store, Hell they put out chairs for that very purpose.
@Adam, you wouldn't happen to have a good (virus free) place I could read em online would you? I been scrimping and saving myself for college, haven't read any of the issues since #100
