The Research Station, true to the program's explanation, was completely abandoned, and had been for some time. Though the station still had power, and its systems of life and gravity still barely functioned, most everything else was in disarray from lack of proper repairs. Metal panels were peeled back on walls, exposing frayed wires that occasionally sparked. Lights that were supposed to be a steady glow shorted out violently, or just flickered ominously. Pieces of technology that hadn't been taken during the evacuation were rusted and broken. Most everything of importance was gone, leaving most rooms hollow and empty. Small cameras sat in the corner of most ceilings, most of them nonfunctional.
Like a faithful guide, the emergency lights led the girl through corridors, both wide and narrow, and around various blast doors that appeared to be stuck. Eventually, the lights grew brighter and stronger as they neared a small central chamber. The far wall was taken up by an enormous monitor, beneath which was a console with a thousand buttons that did who-knows-what.
The monitor loomed like a sleeping titan for a few moments, before it slowly brightened. A white text appeared on the screen.

Wandering inside, the girl pushed the cart ahead of her and paused int he doorway, taking in the room in a slow, almost melancholic way. At last her eyes fell upon the screen.

Perk stepped forward, a sleek blue orb held in his hand. Squeezing it, the pirate dropped the now smoking ball into the darkness, watching the light to see how long it's descent lasted.

There was a stretch of time where the monitor was just a blank black. The white elekk in the room was quite clear--a dusty skeleton not far from where the computer's console was.

The orb flashed off innumerable crossing spars and beams as it fell, clanging off some with the echoes reverberating for some time indeed, to the point the sound was so muffled that if it reached the bottom no one above might know.
As the pirate performed his investigation both Mishka and Kasmed were occupied trying to untangle Jack.

As the man walked around the outside of his ship he heard a humming noise and looked up to see a drone slowly rising above his ship. It had a small metal orb shaped body no bigger then a basket ball with a engine mounted on either side allowing it to hover in the air as it slowly approached the man. "ST-47 I need you to take a look around and see if you can find any villages or anything alive for that matter." He said and getting a beep in reply as the robot took back off into the air and began to fly off over the forest.

Shambling over to the port, the girl pushed the cart flush against the metal console. Moving about it once more, she dug out several long cables feeding into the box atop the loader. With a degree of certainty she began to affix the proper nodes to the console. Taking a stumbling step back with an arm raised as though not to disturb a wild animal, she glanced over her handiwork. Nodding slowly at the frail lines suspended between the two, the girl deactivated the loader, easing it down to the floor with a noticeable whirl of dying power, like some animal being laid to rest.

After the sequence had ended, the lights on the monitor flickered out and the program shut off, at least for the time being.

Perk gazed downwards, rewinding the sight and replaying it in his eyepiece; outlines forming in the darkness where beams and paths had been visible.
Watching for the closest one, the Kig'Yar nodded; suddenly throwing himself down, cloak flapping outwards as he descended; claws touching down on one of the beams, darkness enshrouding him.

The downloading of the complex algorithms and programming of the station's systems took quite a bit of time, though thankfully not long enough to be overrode when the maintenance protocol ended on a default timer with no one licensed to extend it. When the main program came back online, the screen lit up with camera feeds instead of further text. Most of the blocks of feed were static or blank, and the rest were just shots of empty rooms. Across the station, the levels of lights dimmed and the emergency lights came on again automatically--as if the station were simply operating on a basic parameter, instead of nudged by a more intelligent system.

The girl watched the in suspense screens as they changed, then turned to the box she had loaded into the station hopefully. The box dinged like an oven, its task complete. With a hiss, the lid of the crate cracked in twain and slid back to reveal its precious cargo.

Mishka turned around. A single glance informed her of what happened to their alien ally. Sighing, she left Jack in the care of Kasmed and wandered back towards the pit. Looking down, her red eye whirred as she magnified the pit below in search of the alien.

Rising from the box like a marionette drawn up by a puppeteer's strings was a metallic, vaguely humanoid shape. From an afar glance it would have looked like a girl, maybe ten or eleven, but the truth was far more uncanny. The shell's casing was a smooth silver, its torso proportionate, but it's limbs thin and twiggish, the legs only just as wide as they had to be support the rest. The head was completely smooth, with doll faced features that didn't move. There were lights in the eyes, a pale blue.
The metal body jerked unnaturally for a few moments, though the movements slowly became more realistic, albeit stiff and mechanical.
"Ah, 7h15 15 57rang3," the program stated, the lights on its eyes flickering as it spoke.

The body pulled itself free of the box and landed on the floor. There was a long silence before there was an answer, "1 f331 fr33."
The lights in its eyes dimmed for a moment, before brightening.
