Which to spec....

I've been debating which rogue spec to go with; I'm not quite paid yet, so I'm currently looking at level cap of 20, albeit that will probably change before or right around xmas.
From what I've seen, my current spec (subtlety) seems focused on burst damage, ending the fight before it begins, and appears to work best for solo questing.... From what I've seen of dungeons, that kind of combat doesn't seem particularly feasible when a boss takes lots of time to down, but I might be overthinking it.
Mostly, I've been looking at either combat or assassination as potential end choices. My impressions of each from looking over their info in the spellbook (or at least their level 20 and below abilities) is that combat seems better for physical damage and surviving multiple-mob attacks, while assassination seems better against those who might be resistant to physical damage but vulnerable to nature damage (poison)....
Any suggestions/impressions on which spec might be more reliable for dungeons/raids?

Combat for blade fury for cleave damage when you've got multiple mobs around you (which is like 75% of the time). The other rogue specs don't get aoe until lvl 66 where you get fan of knives.

Level as Combat
End game PvE is generally assassination, although combat has some clear fights that they come out way ahead on (guardians for example).
PvP is almost always Subtlety.
