shoulda dropped all quests at 58 IMO. So much more money and the gear is som much better its rediculous. Argent Dawn rep is useless other than for Naxx attunement... but thats going away too so you really dont need it at all. The only quests i would keep are those that are proffession or class specific but... being as youre a hunter youdont have any. Get to OL's and go get that money!! =)

Why wouldn't you go thru the portal? The only reason to port to Shatt to enter outlands, is to get there earlier than 58 for tradeskillups or hearthstone to hop continents easier. There are quests around the portal.

Because Ive had my hearth set to Shat for quite a while now and it was quicker than FPing to Blasted Lands and finding the portal. I grabbed the FP at Honor Hold and I already had (somehow) the FP to the portal...
/shrug hearth Shatt>SWportal>fp blasted lands>mount to portal. Maybe takes 6 or 7 minutes total. To each his/her own I guess.

Unless you are going to sit in the 59 bracket and play pvp, there really isn't much reason to hang out in the old content for equipment IMHO. There are green drops that far outweigh the blues from old world dungeons of the same level requirements.
This isn't new. It is a common problem in progressing MMO's. And until the Blizz team revamps oldworld stuff, it will stay that way.
