Well, no. Given that the only piece of Tier 4 which isn't outdone by crafted items or badge rewards are the shoulders, T4 is for disenchanting. T5 is more of a demonology set with the 2-piece bonus that boosts your pet, and you'll still find many of the non-set pieces are superior.
Tier 6 is solid overall, though it isn't quite so certain a choice with 2.4.

and who raids as demo that is in tear 5 raids?
dont overestamte tear 4 the 2 set bounus of 130spell damage combined with spellstrike and 2 spell damage trinkets all stacks. i love going from 1300 shaddow damage 2 1700+ when throwing dots. but thats just me.

Any of a number of people run demo in T5 instances. You can find demonology raiding videos and threads on most boards, and TK/SSC have been done by many locks with a felguard build. The 2-piece bonus for T5 is undeniably pointed toward a demonology warlock.
Regarding T4:
Anecdote is not the singular form of data.
The T4 bonus proc is approximately a 5% per cast, as is the spellstrike and likely has a cooldown. Getting them to both go off at the same time is a bit challenging (i.e. purely random). Even when you do, it's nowhere near the 400 spell damage bonus you represent.
You can only gain the on-use bonus of one spell damage trinket at a time, as they all share use cooldowns. It is also irrelevant in comparing T4 to crafted and offset pieces, as the trinkets can be used either way.
The T4 shoulders are better than FSW. The gloves are crap and easily surpassed by either the badge pair or Attumen's drop. The robe is a 30 damage downgrade from FSW. The pants and hood are both inferior to spellstrike.
No matter which piece you choose, you're giving up a lot for a rare proc and your overall damage will be less than if you just went for the individually better items.

random is the point. when ur an aff loc all u want to do is keep imp shadbolt up and keep ur mana up and do the best dot rotations as u can... so if u have 2 trinkets that u control when 2 use that give + spell damage and spellstrike and tear 4 then u have alot of proc +spell damage that proc alot and u dont realy have to do anything just watch ur dots and let ur gear do the work.

Even if the proc +dmg seems nice, to judge it's efficiency you need to take into account proc chance, hidden cd (if applicable) and duration of the proc. What has been repeatedly said and is easy to mathematically prove is that the procs from T4 bring less dps than the stats you lose for getting 2 T4.
Spellstrike and trinket procs are out of the equation since they are available in either case.
