You can also try checking the Ah. At 77 (78) (gear is 77)you can start getting the new Cat. Weapons which have alot better stats then anything in Wrath.

If you can get a group, get what my lv 72 DK has:
Twinblade of the Phoenix
Edit: I know people say "it's from a 70 raid, ....", but trust me, it'll last you. The stats alone are great, and if you add gems, it can easily beat out any Northrend item before heroics.
Edit #2: Heads up, it's a 17% drop, so... be prepared.

Actually, if you add epic wotlk gems... it prolly will. However, you can also just get the brutal sword. Much less efford and a lot better.

Few issues. First thats a Cat Quest award. You can't start the starter Cat Quest till 80. I'm not sure if you can flght into the zone and bypass the starter quest or not. If so your still need to be 78 not 77 like the Op is.
Second is a very nice Sword but is has Mastery which can't be used till 80 when its trained.

You cannot fly into the zone and accept quests at a lower level than 80. Questgivers have nothing to offer you there until that point. It sucks.
That said, you'll be 80 by the time you are doing that quest line and likely have trained Mastery in your city before taking the portal to Hyjal.
