UA/Shadowburn (41/7/11+2)
Highly mobile build with a lot of useful instants and a deep bag of tricks. Usually runs the felhunter and is a caster-killing spec. Solid with poor gear due to your crowd control abilities. Very good in larger scale battles where your dots will chew threw multiple players and where you can disrupt the enemy caster/healer line with an iHoT. Vulnerable to melee.
Felguard (5/43/11+2)
Very strong survivability with a soul-linked felguard. Hits like a sledgehammer, but lacks the utility and mobility of UA/Shadowburn. Stronger against melee while sacrificing some strength against other casters - particularly other warlocks, who will banish your pet and rip away your defensive and offensive boosts with a single spell.
SL/SL (25/36/0 and variants)
The warlock survival build. You give up the damage boosts late in the affliction and demonology trees in order to become as annoying to kill as possible. Runs a felhunter to irritate casters and provide resistances. More of an arena build than a BG build.
Nightfall/Backlash (20/0/41)
Burst damage is king. Nightfall. Backlash. Intensity. Shadowburn. Shadowfury. Conflagrate. You burn through mana like crazy. You lack any survivability talents. You will die a lot. You will also rip huge chunks out of the opposition before you go down. If you want people screaming "warlocks are OP!" after you've just dropped a pair of instant Ruin-enhanced shadowbolts on them to two-shot them in two seconds, this is your build. Usually runs a succubus.
Fire Destro (7/7/47)
Got a boost in 2.4 with the change to Emberstorm. Intensity and Backlash allow you to get off your spells while under pressure, and you keep the succubus out for those panic moments against melee classes. Base demonology talents give it better survivability than Nightfall/Backlash while surrendering a few burst capabilities. More of a sit back and nuke build, which is great if you're left alone and a problem otherwise.
