For us Dragons in the inn:
*Adopt David Attenborough voice*
"Here, we see the male in his natural habitat. With an alcoholic concuction in one hand, and a young woman in the other. Here, we see a female grooming herself with a metal brush. Over here, we see the gnomish barmaid trying to reach the barrel of beer, but to no avail. These are, the Theramorians."

Hey! The hula girl is an important item... without it, the roflcopter doesn't turn into an epic one.

I wonder if an RP with some future events already decided would be fun.
It could be divided into chapters where each chapter ends when all the criteria for that chapter has been set have been accomplished. The OP would then start with the next chapter, with new events planned, and then start it in another thread.
Another way to do it could be to set a time limit for planned events (as in, that and that has to happen before page 20)
I think this kind of idea would remove battles where people just start fighting each other in the Q&A just because they can't develop the story the way they want (Like Morec and GC earlier in this RP)
What do you think?

Well, that really doesn't work.
In essence, the best RPs this forum has had all work around the idea of 'You make a character, set in this area/world/idea and roll with what comes.' People still join and enjoy other RPs, but they don't last very long because the original idea gets boring after a while.
You don't think the reason for that may be the lack of restrictions on the RPers? I mean, (I'll take your world as an example) the world is so huge and you can be whatever you want, wherever you want, however you want. Cannot restriction instead of limiting the players freedom, actually enhance it and work the story towards something that doesn't involve everyone being dragons, attacking each other but taking zero damage because "this is not my version of this story"?

I tend to take damage in prolonged fights, when I'm involved in them. :P
The problem with being too restrictive is that you are almost dictating people what to do, what to play as and what they want to be the end result. However, the point in RPs is that you go in open minded, and they develop in time.

That might be true

I just think you can't force people to RP a certain way. There are conditions and background that your character must meet, but if someone says "I want you to say <x>." Then it doesn't become RPing, it becomes almost script writing.
