I had this idea for "new" skins. Though it's not really about skins as such but...
What if we got certain "decals" from each faction as we hit exalted/revered? Just pulling ideas from games like NeedForSpeedUnderground (etc) where you can unlock better looking pictures and things for your car. It looks kinda open ended and weird but I think it would be cool to get various "Bear Tattoos" for hitting exalted with Wyrmrest (Dragon flames arcing along the side of my bear? Yes Please) or whatever, extra fur patches from Hodir giving boomkins a different colour/tone for their birdlook :P
And it doesn't have to be just for druids, you could have warriors getting an option to modify the look of their armor with various paints/unlocked crafters at exalted rep. Or mages can get other types of polymorph, thus giving them another glyph (kinda as a reply to those that say if mage have that glyph we should too, which I agree with but I also see why we shouldn't need to use a glyph for it at the same time lol).
Anyways, was just thinking of that as i went to work yesterday.

Well, as many mmos have the option to customise your gear to your taste and to match other pieces you have (instead of looking like a piniata - tnx BC) blizz might have to come up with something... And as prolly there will be at least another expansion we might be lucky to get deeper character customisation. They went slowly there with the barbershops... But still far away from Warhammer where I can hook severed heads to my pants :P

Meh, seems like way too much work for Blizzard. I would say a more realistic idea would be Blizzard creating minor glyphs to change the appearance of your form, much like Polymorph for mages except instead of a 'new' animal, you change your colour for example.
Well that DID happen... for a while at least. Then BLizz decided that it wasn't quite fair somehow to make us use a minor glyph slot or 2 for it. WHich is kinda true coz we can use other things for minor glyphs tho one, Dash Glyph, is just there, so a Polar Bear Glyph would be nice, but again, other druids would be using their minor slots for things that they wanted to use for their play style.
The mage polymorph isn't like a druid getting a whole new skin imo, it's just like dash, makes it slightly cooler. A whole new skin (or even decals/tattoos/whatever) for a druid is so much better :)

Sorry guys this isn't a post on what you want, this is a post on ideas for solutions. We all know that we want it changed, now instead of QQing I tried to spark some thought into this thing.
Thanks for the link from GC tho :) Haven't seen that one yet.
But seriously people, THINK.
Blizz are very good (most of the time) at listening to us when we want something and we actually take the time to have a look at the solution ourselves and see if we can take ideas to them, they see what we write here and know how we feel about this so it IS just a matter of waiting to see what they have in store, but at the same time throwing ideas around is fun too :)
Pleeeease don't turn this inot another qq i want new forms post! :)

Here's an idea. Remember needing those books to learn new spells before they became available on the class trainers? How about something like that, when learned, gives the druid a Polar Bear skin in Bear form that varies slightly between horde and alliance druids so they can be told apart. Perhaps to give Moonkins a similar skin to
Moontouched Owlbeasts
in Winterspring. One for each form, Blizz could make these books a world drop if they don't want every druid to run around sporting the new models. They could also make an option on Druid Trainers to unlearn the new coloring if they wish. It never seemed like a big deal to have custom forms since we end up having to stare at the same model wherever we go with each patch, even just one new skin on a familiar form would be great, and of course the proper details to tell between horde and alliance druids in all forms (keep horns on taurens, elfears on night elves).
Maybe taking this idea one step further there would be books which would be world drops but instead of just giving changes to one form gives changes to all forms.
For example there could be a book , this book would change bear to polar bear, cat to snow leapord, cheetah to white cheetah(couldnt think of summin more fitting), moonkin to the model suggested in the above post and tree changed to the model used for the trees in the nexus.
There would be a number of these books allowing u to customise ur forms ( cant think of anymore atm).
