Ugh, stupid TF2. Won't let me connect to a server. Keeps telling me that I need to be logged in to a Steam account (which I am).

Check the integrity of the game cache and then restart steam. That's pretty much always fixes it.

AAAAAAAAAAAND it's because Steam was updating and didn't tell me.

I wasn't being serious when I wrote that. I was just quoting what many say when a class can beat their class.
Okay.

I started playing a few months before F2P. I can honestly say that my favorites are Gunslinger Engineers (it takes away the stress of maintaining a level 3 sentry gun) and the three offensive classes, depending on what I feel like doing at the moment. Scout for hit and runs, Soldiers for general usage, Pyro for Degreaser/Flare Gun/Postal Pummeler for epic crits.

I downloaded it because it was free (YAY FREE GAMES!) but I haven't actually played it yet because I suck at FPSs. Is there a single player mode where I can l2play or... ?

There is, but the AI is not that great. Also it won't really teach you how to play spy at all. The bots are better at ferreting out spies than players are.

There are 4 tutorials for the Soldier, Demo, Spy and Medic. Those can give you a feel for the game. After that, you can set up a game against bots to explore the class you want to play a bit more. You can try the Valve official servers from there on and maybe find a server you like.

Eh, I really just need to learn how to work the characters, what they can do, and those things.

I really don't like the fact that they made promo items craftable. I hat-crafted two Milkmans and two Baker Boys the other day and I got the Witcher's Foxhead Medallion and the Janissary from Mount and Blade. =/

I can't seem to avoid falling off the top bridge in Doublecross. It seems to happen half a dozen times per game, although some of them, no doubt, are from the other team "helping" me on my way down.
I guess that's why I prefer 2fort.

Don't blame yourself, most of the time there was a Pyro airblasting us off the bridge. And thanks for keeping me healed as Soldier/Scoot! xD

I'll be honest with you, the only others from Wowhead in that game that I recognized were Queggy and rosemount. It's always nice to see others from the same little community, though.

I think that's one reason why I like doublecross so much is because of the ability of the environment to play such a big role in the game.

^Must've been the Pyro airblasting us off. :P
But seriously, I like the map because of that but I can't stand the sniper's ability to camp the crosswalks. =/ I stick my head out and *pew* I have a new haircut.

Nah, Queggy was playing a sniper that game, not a pyro.
But, I do agree - there's a decent distance between the main entrance and the first bit of cover on the bridge, all of which can be seen from the opposing battlements. A good sniper can keep that area locked down unless the other team goes out in force.

Just send your laggiest person out first. Hard to snipe someone when their head is not where you think it is.
