Just downed her right in front of the entrance in Shu'Halo level 85 hunter at 10:18 pm server time. I forgot to change to survival spec so it took a really long time in BM spec. lol
Only one add spawned and I quickly got rid of it and continued shooting her in the head. Took me down to 55% before I brought her down.

Got my own kill this morning at 8 : 14 AM PST. Darkspear.
Pulled a all nighter to try to get him and nothing all night, I get up to let my computer auto log off, lay down in bed and the HOLY HELL theres NPC scan. Spawned right under me. I then start to freak out and forgot my poisons lol. Downed him in two minutes.

I was hovering about level with the entrance to the Stonecore, and I found him to the east of the Temple of Earth entrance.
Most of the bugs I've been reading about (unable to target him, as well as despawning whelps) seem to have been fixed - I found no problems targeting him, my spells landed, etc. and the whelps did not despawn. I didn't dare try summoning my Felhunter just in case it wrecked it. I didn't use auto-attack for obvious reasons, so I can't comment on the melee side of things.

I found him spawned just over the Quartzite Basin. I was flying back from the Crumbling Depths because I was checking if Jadefang had spawned which he did. My NPCScan went off and there he was just flying there. I had originally gone to Deepholm to check if the Lost in the Depths daily had been up and it wasn't though I came across something even better. While I was quite lucky to have tripped over Aeonaxx, prior to this I had been camping for weeks and losing plenty of sleep as we all do looking for this rare spawn.
Good luck fellow campers. I'm now off to go hunt for the Gray Camel... ugh *shutters*.

Anyone think it'd be possible to burst him down as a level 80 Hunter in ICC/Cata gear? I'm a bit twinked out, I can burst roughly 15k DPS, and Chimaera Shot heals would help a bit with the adds. If not then I won't waste someone else's farming time.

Anyone think it'd be possible to burst him down as a level 80 Hunter in ICC/Cata gear? I'm a bit twinked out, I can burst roughly 15k DPS, and Chimaera Shot heals would help a bit with the adds. If not then I won't waste someone else's farming time.
He has 800k health.
You burst for 15k with your pet, hell even if you sustain 15k DPS w/o your pet it will still take you 60 seconds to down him.
Now onto the welps, at level 80 I remember having approx 24k health. The welps hit for 2k so you can take approximately 14 welp hits.
I was going to reply with just "no" but it was too short.

Well actually my pet wouldn't be involved, pet is inactive while riding him. As for the whelp hits, the entire idea is to focus the whelps and kill them first, attacking Aeonaxx in between.
It's seeming difficult but possible if I'm doing 10k w/o my pet.

The thing that infuriates me is. If you are going to say you killed (Insert NPC name here) at such and such a time, PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS GOOD AND HOLY, put what time you saw them last, if you did see them previously. If you did not, then you did not. Because it can help narrow down times at what not specific to your realm as well.

I only camped for 2 days, not a very high population server but still like 4-5 active campers normally. Way nice mount though and worth at least my wait :P Good luck everyone you'll get it. Posted vid on youtube, and the kill time is in the vid in my chat log
