And other races adopted those teachings. Tauren and Dwarfs are the original Runemasters though.

So what should that be? Any explanation would be fine... Melee or caster? Tank, healer or DPS? Possible Abilities?

I look forward for it.
I think there will occure a problem. Unlike D&D the warcraft lore doesnt have the bunch of gods they have. I remember of course Elune and the Old Gods, but the Old Gods are evil. Then there are some demi gods, most of them of Nightelven culture. And a warrior of Light already exists in WoW ;)

He doesn't actually worship a God, he just uses crazy threats/promises of damnation and salvation to slaughter his enemies.

I will not criticize the idea. The problem is the static definition of your faction and race. In the end it will probably become something like a faction and that will be boring... Something like that should change your character in the whole.
To bad Blizz stated at the subject "Horde and Alliance raiding together" that the faction concept will not change. In secret you can worship who you want but there will be no Orc praying to Elune nor any Gnome calling for Shir'valla as a common behaviour. Its not meant to be that way.

While the idea of religions would be cool it wouldn't work for the reasons Thana stated. Also, back on track:

Basically it's a mage/warlocky-thing with a pet that does nothing and a hell of a lot of channeling spells. The longer you channel the spells the more effective they get and you can also channel modes into your pet, so you can channel Tanking, DPS or Healing modes into your pet but you can't attack or do anything else while channeling. When you stop channeling pet modes, it stops doing what it was doing and goes back to your side allowing you to channel different things.
