I'm pretty sure the Alliance advanced in Southern Barrens because Blizzard wanted it to seem kind of even (Horde taking some of Ashenvale and Alliance taking some of Barrens). Just a thought

Perhaps. Or perhaps it's just a good tactical move. (Blizzard, tactics? *gasp*!)

And Varian has dialogue in the Argent Tourney, which Thrall doesn't. And Varian shows up in ICC, while Thrall doesn't.
You're probably talking about when you actually fight inside the tournament, but I'd still like to add this:

I've tackled Garrosh before in an attempt to write his character, and I can say that I sympathize with his motives and goals, if not his means.
He really does love his people and he wants what's best for them. The Horde is living in a desert at the moment, without any nearby source of lumber (at least until Cataclysm), while the Night Elves are sitting up there in prosperity and refusing to share the trees that the Horde needs for shelter and warmth. At least, that's how Garrosh sees it. What he wants is prosperity and happiness for his people. I share his sentiments here.
Garrosh's solution to this, however, is something I do not agree with. Garrosh's solution to his people not having enough resources to meet their needs is to simply take the resources from the people who refused to share them. If the Night Elves won't give up their trees willingly, the orcs will take them, and they will take more than just the trees for the Elves arrogance. To Garrosh, it's not just that the elves are refusing resources from people who need them, but they are in fact challenging the Horde and insulting them. By openly fighting to prevent the harvesting of lumber, the Night Elves are saying that they can defeat the Horde, and use force to keep the orcs from taking something that they need. To Garrosh, the Night Elves underestimate the Horde: they think that the Horde is too weak to take what it needs. And because the Elves are insulting the Horde in this way, he wants to take more than just lumber from them. They don't deserve the utopian natural wealth that they have. He wants to take Kalimdor from them, and to give it to his people, who deserve it because of their strength and the fact that they have weathered through famine and desert heat and cold nights. In his mind, the way things are is all wrong... the strong, proud, noble orcs are living in a harsh, sparse desert, while the spoiled, stingy elves are living it up in a massive forest with more lumber and game than they know what to do with. So he intends to fix the situation.
As I said, Garrosh has good motivations. He just wants what is best for his people. I can sympathize with that. I do not, however, support his methods.
Dude, you need to have a blog.

Yeah, I meant inside the Tournament, while Garrosh is raising hell and trying to pick a fight with the Alliance, and Thrall is under a bleacher somewhere, making out with Jaina, who conspicuously did not have any dialogue inside the Tourney either.
Dude, you need to have a blog.Heh, thank you... :P

Perhaps Garrosh was being an ass to give Thrall time with his little mistress? That might be the reason he's so angry, Thrall's getting the girl lol.
On a serious note, I did enjoy your writings with Garrosh. I hope that becoming Warchief for a while evens him out a little, hopefully Saurfang will continue to watch over him.Heh, thanks. Not sure if you're talking about Once, We Were Warriors... or just my general posts theorizing about his nature, but either way, thanks... :P

I hate him. He called Sylvanas a @#$%^ in the Silverpine questline. I hate him.
No one calls my dark lady in a such way. NO ONE.
Video
She is one; an evil hag of #$%^& who kills Prince Liam, is apparently torturing Koltira, and is transforming into the Lich Queen; Garrosh just calls them as he sees them.

I still pity her. To me, Arthas &%$#ed up her mind, and now she's sick. And since she seems to be getting sicker, instead of better, I may be required to put her out of her misery. But I don't hate her. She's a victim, who cannot help herself.

We don't know what Sylvanas is going to do with Koltira, all we know is that it will make him "more Forsaken".

Koltira might have 'screwed up'... but he was between a rock and a hard place: The Forsaken forces he ended up getting shackled to and their slight genocidal tendencies, which had to be a bad flash back for him of the Scourge invasion, and across from him was Thassarian, his best friend, bash brother and fellow ex-member of the Blade(and the one who killed him and turned him into a death knight); can't blame him for deciding to not be part of another Gilneas/Wrathgate event.....

Whether or not Koltira can be blamed, I think it's pretty obvious that Blizzard is wanting us to see Sylvanas as a villain in this expansion. Between the evil hooks flying out of the portal and grabbing Koltira, her continued use of the plague (in direct disobedience of the Warchief's orders), her kidnapping of Lorna Crowley (which, while effective, certainly, is a 'villainous' action), and her resurrecting fallen enemies as her own servants (mirroring the Lich King), it seems obvious to me that Blizzard wants to make it clear that she is a villain.
One of the only things that gives me hope is the fact that she offered the Gilneas Liberation Front the opportunity to retreat, something that she notes the Lich King never gave her people.

Finally managed to complete the chain yesterday and pretty sure Koltira also said that *whatever Sylvanas' alter ego's name was* is completely useless and just stands around, and sends you to get her. (leading to the climax)
Assuming Sylvanas heard that part, taking her mental state account, I wouldn't be surprised if she got pretty pissed off about that as well. :-P
