I think there's a few things worth mentioning. The first is that if you haven't been "one to tank," then I recommend working on that defense gear prior to trying a Heroic. And I don't care how much resilience you have, majority of players will probably laugh & replace you for a Heroic. Fair? Maybe not, but nothing is fair.

Now, considering you don't even have a shield, you really should be considering the normal dungeons before Heroics. I hate to say it, but this is my stance & if I were asked to join your group right now, I would have to decline.

The good news is that everything can be fixed, and with relative ease. Through quests, and some of the S1 gear (such as the shield, Quab's favorite item in the game I think, lol), there won't be much to worry about.

I also highly recommend at least a 31 point Protection build for Heroics. While it is possible with a DPS build, most players claim too much in the way of realistically tanking Heroics on a normal player basis, or simply overgear the dungeon/other players. Regardless, it is not worth putting 4 other players through Hell just so you don't respec. That's another group I wouldn't join, even on my rogue. Waste of my time.
