T11 Set

Quick question here. Throughout some comments and what not on the T11 set part of this website people were saying things along the line of "this is only the first set of raid gear". Does this mean at a later date that other tier sets are going to be released,
or is this the raid set for DK
until another exp. comes along?
I played WoW a few times before, but never made above 30 before things hit the fan and I had to quit playing. So I am unsure of how things worked before in BC and WoTLK in the end game.
If there are other raid sets coming, would it be wiser to buy one or two pieces and then save up for the rest? Or is the release of another set a long time coming?

In each expansion there are different tiers or levels of content. The tier 11 set is the first tier of this expansion and when a major patch hits a new raid will be introduced and therefore a new tier will be introduced.

When Ulduar came out they introduced new type of emblem and with the old one - you couldn't buy higher tier. Probably same gonna happen now.
No. Getting rid of the emblem system and introducing the points system is supposed to prevent this.
Basically, right now you can only buy T11 with valor points, which are primarily acquired through raids. You can buy blues to enter heroics with justice points, as well as heirlooms and old gear.
When the next major content patch comes out (4.1), it'll introduce a new tier of raiding and gear, T12. What will happen is that T12 will be obtainable with valor points, and T11 will only be obtainable with justice points.
It's somewhat similar to the Wrath system (could only buy T10 with Frost emblems and T9 with the previous emblems), but it's better because you only have to deal with two sets of points rather than a new set of points every time a content patch is introduced.

Exept 1 thing I believe I saw that they are gonna convert all valor to Justice points when the new tier comes out. To prevent people from purchasing the newest gear right away.

That is correct, when each new tier is released all current Valor points will be converted to Justice. So hoarding Valor points to buy a higher tier will not be possible.
