If Quel'thalas fell because Sylvanas and the majority of the Elven army went with Alleria, forest trolls and remnants of orcs would reinforce the Horde's forces against Lordaeron.
It's as simple as that.

Alright let's put it at the most simple here:
Orc forces attacked most of the Northern Kingdoms. They gained the alliegence of the Forest Trolls by promising to destroy the Elves; so, when part of the Horde heads south to crush Lordaeron, that leaves a portion of the Horde and Trolls(you know, the sworn enemies of the Elves) still at Quel'thas, fighting against them.
So yes, they could have stripped the Elvish armies and headed south... but their homelands would have fallen sooner.
HOWEVER! Sylvanas time when she was alive has NOTHING! to do with her being Evil..... seriously. You've got someone anti-elf thing Darkton, the Elves withdrew from the Alliance because of the infighting and the fact that not one of the Human kingdoms seemed to want to assist their people with rebuilding their country after the devastation the Orcs/Trolls/Dragons did.

There is a difference between being a veteren of the Second war, and a hero of the Second war.Right... which is something other people need to learn as well, instead of trying to shoe horn a 14 year old boy into a war he had nothing to do with.
Yes, because elves are the only ones who suffered any damage.
Its not like Stormwind has been reduced to rubble and litered with dead maimed children and raped women and all survivors are homeless or anything like that.
And what could the Alliance assist with? The only thing bad that happend was some dead trees.
The elves left because they were unhappy that they got dead trees.
If it wasen't for the Alliance, everything would be dead. They left because the humans were at each other's throats; everyone complaining about whatever...... As for the dead tree thing; I'd ask the Night Elves about that and consider what they do. It's part of their nature worship, even after all the time apart from the original race. Yes Stormwind had help from Lordaeron, but why didn't Quel'thas, Ironforge, and the other places where the Horde broke them?

Prehaps, but thats mainly in the Blood elf case.
High elves and Night elves are win.Are you joking?
You know those were High Elves in the Second War, right?
And really, other than the Blood Knights, there's not really anything terrible about the Blood Elves, either.
And what could the Alliance assist with? The only thing bad that happend was some dead trees.Funny. I can totally see you saying the exact opposite in relation to Warsong Gulch...
Orc: What's the matter? We're just chopping some trees, what's the big deal?
You: Those trees are sacred and on the ancestral land of the elves. It's a huge deal.
There is a difference between being a veteren of the Second war, and a hero of the Second war.As a Ranger-General who led a successful campaign against the orcs and trolls, I'd say she's a hero.

Your just taking the question and throughing it at someone else because its not easy to answer why people are willing to blame others for saving thier hides. And I'm pretty sure that Silvermoon elves don't practice in druidism. All elfs, till the Blood Elves, had the Nature worship as part of themselves, it's a core thing for them. And seeing as if the Elves hadn't joined with the Alliance, the Horde would have gotten to Capital city a lot faster, and would never have had the assistence of the Wildhammers, I'd say everyone helped each other in that war.
And I asked the same thing because you didn't give a good answer the first time; why is that Stormwind rated higher then Quel'thas, an ally, same as the humans of a kingdom in the south?

Stormwind is in a critical state while others aren't?
So Quel'thas, with it's border's open, and the trolls trying to press in isn't a critical state?
As a Ranger-General who led a successful campaign against the orcs and trolls, I'd say she's a hero. She did not.She was the overall leader of the Quel'thas forces; and seeing as they didn't stick around to mop up the siege groups attacking the elves before they headed south, I wonder who was leading those defenders....

Is this an insult?
No, that's just something that I could totally imagine you saying. Not trying to exaggerate or anything. It just something that I've heard almost every Alliance person I've ever debated with say.
She did not.She did.

I can't even tell what point your trying to make any more.
That story you just told me sounds like a guess, or an assumption. In other words; while the main army was off chasing the remnants of the Horde south, Sylvanas and her people would have been attempting to stop the leftover Horde still at the borders.
