Survival-speccing for raiding/heroics

I'm kinda stuck being a hunter - I find BM to be the far most powerfull build available at my current gear-level - running Kara, heroics and just started to flirt with ZA - but yet it bores me more and more. I'm usually topping the dmg-list along with another BM-hunter, but thats kinda besides the point. I want to have fun, and topping the dmg-list just doesn't tickle my funnybone anymore.

I often respec to a MM- or Survival-build during the week, for heroics, and do nice damage, while chaintrapping and kiting(2 pieces of the good old Beast Lord-set makes it easy even without Resourcefullness), which is the way I wanna go; no more SS/auto-rotation for me. My lack of knowledge and raidexperience with MM and survivalbuilds, is why I write this post. I kinda have a couple of builds in my repetoir, but would like some input from experienced surv and MM-hunters.

Is Master Tactician and Readiness(surv) worth the 6 points? The damage MT provides is wicked, but I dont think it procs often enough for it to be viable(and when it procs, aggro becomes an issue) and I find Readiness a bit to situational. I always go for Improved Hawk(BM) and Scattershot(MM), which in my opinion, provides more steady damage and the same panic-control, at the same cost - but at the same time, scattershot is very usable in PvP/farming. Correct me, if I'm wrong - I really want to be wrong, because it makes me sad, that a tier 1 BM-talent is the same(or better) as a tier 8 surv-talent and a tier 5 MM-talent is more usefull than the toptalent of surv.

Is Improved Stings(MM) more dmg, than Ranged Weapon Specialization(MM) as a deep MM-specced? I'm still talking about a raid-situation. Forgive me, if this question is stupid or somehow obvious. I kinda like Improved Stings for PvP(lill' paladins don't seem to like my Viper Sting and Silencing Shot all that much), but I've never really taken the time, to compare theese 2 talents in a raid-situation.

Any other advise and maybe links to good Surv/MM-build would be appreciated very much and please be gentle if theese questions have been ansvered elsewhere in this forum.

Ps. Hit Rating is not really an issue for me anymore, as I can easily hit the cap with and without Surefooted with my current gear.
