45-55% of tanking damage is generated by auto-attacks. I say we get our share (coincidentally, the same amount of white damage is enjoyed by rogues).

even though warriors do either all-out dps or tanking, is it possible to do decent dps while fulfilling a tanking role?
if so, how so?

In all honesty, if you are to fulfill your tanking role, than your dps is of no priority, your threat is. you should focus on holding aggro, and letting the other members of the grp do decent damage.

while on your own, yes, you should try to mix in some tanking and dpsing i suppose, because you dont have any others helping you kill mobs, and you need to survive large pulls(should the situation arise).

I'm (very slowly)leveling my warrior right now and if i dont have a healer or other damage dealer with me, I try to pull mobs 1 or 2 at a time. other wise, i just pop defensive stance and spam revenge/thunderclap since im only 18.

don't get me wrong, but while tanking, your damage meter should be removed from the screen and replaced with threat meter.

warrriors competing on damage meters are a good way to wipe the party.
