everytime i try to go to dalaran (usualy throught mage tele) loading screen takes like 10 mins, then i see the purple floor and the door and the fountain outside (but no character, or players or npc's, and i cant move ) and then 5 mins of this view and then blackness and then "u hav been kicked from server"... ive tried to go to dalaran like 20 times and ive only manage to sucesfully walk around twice... im already lvl 80 and i havnt been able to go into dalaran again and i just get booted over and over again, i hav not tried getting there throught FP or through the gem on the ground in crystalsong but i doubt that will work... ive had to resort to friends logging into my acc on their comps and getting me out of dalaran, or asking GM's to port me out with one of my alts...
so after that long depressing story, my question is, is there realy anything i can do for dalaran to be playable?
btw: i do u QH but ive tried many times with all add-ons deactivfated and it makes no diference, and all my video efects settings are at a minimum and all the (check here to improve performace) boxes are checked
so is there anything at all i can do or am i curse to never enter dalaran....?

Unfortunately the short answer is better hardware.
A high quality video card with fast bus speed, an upscale network card, lots of RAM/processor speed.... Dalaran is the hub city for all the high level characters of the game, so it is ALWAYS crowded. This forces your machine to process a ton of sprites all doing their own thing, on top of the fact that its a graphically intense city as it is.
If you have a top-of-the-line gaming machine and are still having problems, then I'm very sorry to tell you there's a problem somewhere. If you have an older machine (like I do, but i have a good video card) you can cut the lag down enough to get 11fps and be able to log in in a relatively short time.
1st priority: good quality video card. I'm not a guru, but I have an nVidia GeForce 9400 GT in a machine that has 2gb of RAM and an athlon 3500+ processor, and don't have the problem you're running into. Blizzard went out of their way to create northrend as high-end as possible, so the only way to get max enjoyment, unfortunately, is to have a high-end gaming setup... or at least a reasonable facsimile. =)

Disable all your addons, lower all your settings to the lowest, if that doesn't work, you're truly ^&*!ed.

If you have good hardware, great. But what about your internet provider?
Europe doesn't have a lot of great ISPs (hey I may be wrong, I've only spent a week in Europe, and it was in london where I had access to a superfast fiber ethernet), but you need a heck of a lot of bandwidth to have lag free gaming no matter what.
Also, depending on how computer savvy you are or aren't, its possible there are background applications using bandwidth (auto-updaters for non-virus scanning programs as an example) and processor time. There are a lot of factors to consider, and without getting an enormous rundown of your machines' specs, your ISP's stats/track record, and ... sheesh I don't even know how to continue, there's way too many things you can check. Good luck finding a solution is all i can say.

Actually the UK is known to have probably the worst ISP's in all of Europe, at least, that's what anybody's conclusion will be, playing with a lot of Englishmen :)
Connection is Belgium, Netherlands, etc. is just fine.
Also, if your connection is horribly, it might be taking the wrong route to Paris. Just direct your traffic (through a Proxy or whatever it's called) to another place, and from there to Paris. It helped for a lot of Spanish people. (and I'm sure there's someone on Wowhead who can give you the specifics on how to set it up, etc.)

I put in another 1GB of RAM and I now have zero lag whatsoever. Cost me about $80.

Dalaran is very laggy, VERY. Thats the only reason I can think of why they havent set up a couple of AHs there btw :p
Actually, Blizz has said they want auction houses confined to the original capital cities. That's why they didn't add any auction houses in Outland - even in the Steamwheedle Cartel towns, where you would normally find the cross-faction AH.
And on the original topic: It's pure hardware more than likely. My roommate couldn't do anything in Dalaran right after WotLK came out, and we expected it was because of all the people checking out the new city; after a month, though, and still unable to move around in Dalaran, he doubled the RAM in his machine (from 2 gig to 4 gig), and now it's fine.

yes my computer is ^&*!ing old and crappy, its like 6 years old but since my beautifull new laptop died of an unexpected heart atack im forced to play here, and yes the internet here is horrible, it take 1-5 mins to open an internet browser because it takes so long to conect, its a complete disgrace (and the wi-fi in it is soo bad that if i close the door, or go to a different floor in my house i loose signal on my ipod...)
so i can start to see that in %^&*ed while i still have this thing, altho theres not much to do bout the internet... since its like the "best" i could find here and its still crap... hopefully ill get a new comp soon and ill make sure to find one with apropriate/suitable components for gaming....

that last idea sounds very interesting, yes i do live in spain, and idk where my conection is routing but this could possibly help, anyone know how?

the general idea seems to be better hardwarre but in the state of this computer it would be a waste of time and money, ill just keep pushin towards a new comp and see if i find anymore tricks along the way...
