Paladin Experts,
My ret pali is fast approaching 80, and I'm looking at doing a lot of PvP when I get there, so I've been practicing on the way.
Seal of Justice I have heard is NOT reccommended for PvP when you have SoCommand. However, If SoJusice procced once every 10 or 15 hits it would be worth more to me than an extra x amount of damage from Command. Also, If you 'twisted' SoCommand when you were about to use Hammer of Justice, to get the crit, then back to SoJustice you may not lose to much damage. This seems great versus casters like mages. I've done this method in a couple of fights and it always proced right when I needed it to.
Stormherald (Blacksmithing Mace) seems like it would be a nice addition to this build. I realize it is a lvl 70 weapon, not 80, so a lot more damage goes out the door. Is this going to get upgraded? Is there a lvl 80 compliment to this weapon? What is the most popular non-raid aquired weapon for the ret pali these days?
In a really lucky fight you might keep your opponent completely stun locked. In an unlucky fight you might miss out on a whole lot of damage and no stun a single time. What are the percentages?
In advance, thank you for your time and suggestions.

This post is a mess, but I'm going to try to discern enough to answer some of your questions.
First off, Seal of Justice is terrible, especially now with the new Seal/Judgement system, wherein you can just JoJ a target to get the debuff up on them and never have to use Seal of Justice at all. SoC will always, always, always be better, particularly because it simply causes a lot more damage.
The stun on Seal of Justice is completely random. While it "may have proced right when you needed it to" in the past, there is zero guarantee it will in the future. Just, please, don't use Seal of Justice in PvP.
Secondly, on Stormherald. While there is no "direct upgrade" to Stormherald (there is currently no Macemaster, or any Weaponmaster specialization weapons in the game), there is a very nice BoE 2-handed Mace made by any Blacksmith called
Titansteel Destroyer
. Highly recommended. If you do not want to farm/buy the mats for that, there are a plethora of other weapons out there. Do NOT, NOT, NOT try to PvP at level 80 with Stormherald. You will simply be crushed.
Thirdly, on your question of percentages...just DON'T USE SEAL OF JUSTICE.
I hope this helps.

I would laugh so hard if a Ret paladin tried to kill me with a stormherald in arena.
I'm sorry, but stormherald is enough loss of damage, then no seal of command? HAH.
Bad idea guy over here.

You're so cool. Shooting me down like that! I bet everyone who read that post says to themselves, "Wow, that middle schooler must really know his stuff".
Thanks for being a jerk.
On the serious side, I ask these questions to find out the best combinations to make my charachter optimal in PvP. If I never asked, I would probably never know. Don't treat people like this if they come up with ideas, even when they are bad ones. For every 10 bad ideas I have, I come up with one phenominal one. If I let people like you stop me, it would make me a worse player.

Okay you're right, im sorry...
Just in case you didn't know, in this game damage must be inflicted upon a target to cause it to "die". To make things die, do more damage. You're suggesting dropping a ridiculous amount of damage in hopes of doing more... damage?
You're right, I flamed the hell out of you... I'm surprised you caught on to that considering the retarded suggestion of stormherald/soj.
I hope you play alliance.

If I remember correctly the deal with SoJ on 70 was that it had a really high proc chance but the short stun and quickly stacking up DR made it unsuitable for frequent use. I have no idea if it's still the same, could be worth testing. It was popularised as an emergency interrupt, I think by one of Kamil's videos, but even if it's still the same it requires careful planning.

No. I was suggesting dropping damage to do stuns. I don't feel so bad now that I realize you didn't even read my origional post.
I'd like to thank the constructive posters here.

Eh, don't worry 'bout it, MyTie. For some people, this game = LIFE, so let that fella have his superiority complex fulfilled, it's all good. Life's too short to really care all that much *shrug* :)
SoJ's good as an emergency interrupt, yes, but I don't really know the numbers as far as percentages and stuff. The seal has its uses at times -- but very situational, like UhOh said. That's why it's currently keybound to, like, Alt+Ctrl+Left, Right, Down, Up, B, A. I don't think I would use Stormherald though, simply because it's outclassed by the other, newer weapons in terms of damage. It may get upgraded, but I don't know of one.

In pvp with a pally, i would suggest more burst to quickly drop them. If you want stuns then roll a rogue or partner with one. Also it's been said that seal of justice brings up diminishing returns. You might get a few
random
little stuns, but then your mighty hammer of justice is useless until you wait for Diminishing returns to go.
So basically what what i understand, you'd drop a lot of damage and burst for a few little stuns. I'd just use seal of command and hammer of justice, you get a lot of damage/burst and a big stun.

Now I haven't tested so I can't confirm, but shouldn't random stuns and controlled stuns be on different DRs?

Don't think so. I haven't tested but a stun is a stun so it should trigger DR. Can anyone confirm?

To the OP:
I looked through your posts, and it does seem that you try to be original. I did not intend to hurt your feelings by the brash nature of my initial post, however I felt that the shock value of flame would prevent you from making an ass of yourself, your teammates, and most importantly -
our
class.
Idk, I guess I was kinda offended by such a stupid idea - and for that, im sorry.
Edit: And to the people who joined in, "WoW = Life" etc, I'm glad that your "Life" involves trolling video game forums and posting that the users there play too much of the game in question. Life's too short for THAT, imo.

I can understand feeling a bit defensive toward the posters who were critical of you but you cannot deny that they are right.
To clairify:
I am defensive toward the posters who are critical of me personally. The posters who are critical of the build I applaud. Thank you for guiding me away from that unproductive PvP method.
It's not like I sit at my computer and get red in the face because someone insulted me online. What bothers me is someone is going to have an idea that would benefit all of us, come to these boards, see the trolls, and not bother asking. I want to make sure they see someone beating on the trolls.
