One of the PCs I play WoW on is a lightweight laptop with not-so-great graphics, so I play it in tiny windowed mode (Yes, for some reason I get a better framerate in windowed mode on this thing). However, when I select windowed mode, 800x600 is the smallest resolution and I'd prefer to have 640x480 be an option.
Right now I'm resizing the window to make it smaller every time I start the client, but I've heard through the grapevine that I can edit a config file to add a smaller default window size. Is this true, and if is it, what file to I need to edit?

You could also use a viewport mod to simply shrink the render viewport in-game and leave yourself with black space around the edges.

My smallest option is 720x576. Weird, never even heard of that one before...
Um, back on-topic. How about you change the resolution of your desktop and then fullscreen WoW? Haven't tried it, just speculation. Otherwise, my google search would be just as good as yours.

This is just one of the PCs I play on, it's certainly not my dedicated playing machine. Primarily, I use this while traveling, and 99% of the time when I'm on it I'm working on archeology. Don't need a whole lot of screen real estate for that. :)
I guess a viewport modifier would work, but it seems a little clunky. Is there no WTF file I can edit to add a 640x480 option to the video menu?
