You need a decent healer more than you need shadow res.

For H-Arc, ive found resto shaman seem to have a hard time keeping me alive, and i'm in almost full T5 equivolant gear. So i try to stick with a pally, or priest to heal. Also, they need to have around 1800 healing to be effective. The hardest pulls of the instance are the molton rock giants in the last boss's room. They hit very hard, and without a well geared healer, you'll likely not make it past that point.
You need to have good dps too. Theres a couple pulls around the first boss, who have a debuff. Cant remember the timer, but i think its 60sec. If you dont kill it within that time, he does an aoe spell dmg ability for like 10k dmg. Which will likely 1shot everyone in your group.
Shadow resistance isnt needed. I dont use SR for any heroics.

I believe Aris is correct, at least as far as Heroic Mana Tombs goes. I recall it used to require some shadow resistance, or at least helped make it easier for the first boss, but honestly I don't believe many use it at all nowadays.
As far as shadow resistance for Heroic Arcatraz, I'm sure it would help.
Keep in mind that the creatures in these dungeons are not level 73, so you wouldn't need an amount of defense comparable to level 73 raid bosses. Just 72, =p
