SoL/JoL is a rare, but sometimes useful combo in duels. I've found it good against feral druids and warriors more than rogues, simply because the rogue can't run out of energy - it's being generated at constant rate, where rage depends very much on the damage you inflict upon the warrior/bear. So I can do very little damage with my poor sword that has high spell damage bonus, but no real dps...but I'll be healing myself a great deal in the meantime. Works beautifully when combined with Reckoning, I am able to heal up to ~10% of my total hp with a single (double) swing.

But yea, use it only as a last resort... normally people will find a way to burst their damage enough so you won't be able to heal yourself fast enough. Maybe it's the best choice against protection warriors...but that's an opinion, no tests have been made.
