ARPrep builds are primarily designed for PVP, so riposte only being useful in PVP is a moot point.

Many rogues take the riposte line, many don't. There are benefits to taking it and there are benefits to leaving it. It's a matter of preference.

You get improved sprint whether you take riposte or not.

I've been toying around with a AR/prep build (yeah I know me and everyone else), and I'd like some feedback regarding Riposte.

In order to get riposte into the build, you have to give up some really good talents (Imp sprint, imp evasion, etc.) Is it worth it?

Bear in mind that I know that Riposte is primarily only useful in PvP or grinding humanoid mobs.

It's not just useful for grinding humaniod mobs. That is, however, the only time that the disarm mechanic is useful. You can still parry and, subsequently, retaliate against the mob with a very DPE-efficient attack.
