Irving Mortorus, Capricia Mortorus, R. B. Havoc
Location:
Grimmwald, Mortorus Castle
Capricia smiled at Xander. "Of course. It's right this way," she said, turning him towards a small side door and leading him towards it. Cracking the doorway open revealed a row of parapets clinging to the side of the domed observatory. The sight was grand indeed. The castle being perched atop the mountain cliff gave a liberal view to the whole of the seemingly endless tracks of gloomy forest below. A thin trail lit by several lamps led from a mountail trail to a thin cut through the woods, heading away where a great dark mass lurked in the distance. The city of Grimmwald, a few pin pricks of light all that managed to struggle through the heavy rain and storm. Every now and then a lighting flash would illuminate the mass of buildings, walls and towers at the borders of the forest.
Capricia hung against the wall and awning, unwilling to venture into the rain itself.
Havoc smiled at Dansha. "I'm willing to face that peril."
Irving rubbed his thumb and forefinger together as he thought. "...Compile me a list. I will do my best to find the materials you're looking for."

"Shall I brand the list upon the skin of your minions or will someone fetch me writing implements?" Meyer asked haughtily, folding his arms on his chest.

Grimmwald, Mortorus Castle
Xander stepped into the rain, letting it soak him anew as he gazed out through the storm. Even for a druid, the sight was imposing; trees stretching outwards in all directions. He glanced back, over his shoulders at the dark ranger. Nodded, he returned his gaze to the sight.
"Perhaps a trip better left until the morning." He commented, gazing up towards the sky above.

Irving scowled at he warlock but made a beckoning motion. One of the flesh constructs jumped away form the group, a deep and eager sound coming from his throat, barely recognizable as laughter as he loped speedily away to a table. Slapping a stitched together hand with one few finger, he dragged together several sheets of paper and clutched them in a fist. Doing much the same to a pencil he lurched across the floor so fast he nearly fell over his own feet twice before reaching the warlock, to whom he thrust the implements towards.
Havoc rose to his feet, rubbing his squared jaw and watching as the dwarf sauntered away. A private smile grew across his features before fading just as quickly.
Capricia smiled from where she sought cover. "It's a bit wet, I'll admit," she called over the howling wind.

"Interesting." Richard said turning his attention back to Shuffles. "Clink would love to study you." He added before turning back to the machine. "Maybe if I can figure out how this thing works I can reverse it so instead of pulling new people here it will send things out?" He said as he started to walk around.

Vance threw open the main doors to the observatory, he did not intend it to be a dramatic entrance, and waited until he was part way through the room and observing the horde of people with in it before even proclaiming his presence, "Did you invite the
entire
Grimmwald Circus to your castle, Irving?" he questioned.

"Don't touch those!" Irving snapped at Richard. "It works by pulling in the aura of death! By modifying the death grip spell for broader and more numerous use is the only reason it works! It's not designed to repel things. If it did, it would only fling you into the forest or worse, the nether!"
Irving flinched at the other voice and slowly turned towards the new arrival. "Vance. What are you doing here?"

"It's not the rain, it's the night." Xander replied, turning back towards the stitched woman. "If I'm going in there, I would like to do it in the day. If it's as dangerous as you say, then its denizens are probably nocturnal."

"I have to if I'm going to be any help." Xander commented, stepping back inside from the rain. "I need their connection to nature. Even as detached as they are, that many trees should still have a strong enough force."

The arrival of the letter did nothing to curb Irving's fowl temper. If anything, it merely fueled it. "Try to be on time," Irving retorted, looking down from his place on the machine. "You're too late to of seen it in action. But here they are," he proclaimed, spreading his arm wide. "Azerothians!"
"Maybe you didn't hear me..." Reaching forward, Capricia grabbed Xander by the shoulders and forced him to stare at her as her mouth slowly shaped the letters of her words. "Pay attention! Nobody who goes into the forest comes back alive or sane! Xander! You are not to enter those woods! Ever! 'Tis hard enough keeping a road leading to Grimmwald intact! Do you understand!" she demanded, the socket of her missing eye staring like a hollow cave in the face of a mountain.

"At least in the nether Salena could find me and bring me back from this crazy place." He replied before he reached into one of his tool pouches and pulled out a small bronze spider the size of his fist and turned it on causing a small stream of steam to leave the tiny hole on it's back. "I need to think." He said sitting down as the spider climbed up his arm and onto the top of his head and began to scratch his head as Richard tapped his chin. "If we can't reverse this one then maybe build one we can?" He thought out loud.

At Irving's pronouncement, Vance once again swept his gaze across the room and its inhabitants. After a few moments, he looked back up at the testy 'scientist' with disinterest, "Great, you brought another freakshow to Grimmwald. As if we didn't have a large enough one already."

"Let me show you..." Xander commented, raising his arm. The display from before began, nature magics sparking around the air and around him.
Only this time, the druid didn't stop. Turning, he clenched his eyes, attempting to force his spell to work. "I can't... access the dream. He grunted, finally stopping as his arm fell limp. Panting, he looked back at Capricia.
"I can't summon my staff. And without her I'm not going to do much good here." He explained. "And those woods are my only chance of getting that portal open."

"We could ask the Harvest Witches," Capricia suggested. "I heard they encountered similar problems when the forest first grew, but they seem accomplished now."
Irving glared at Vance and ground his teeth slightly. True, he did not have too high an opinion on those caught in his net himself, but they were brought with
his
device, at
his
behest, and were
his
workings. Irving clutched the railing and began walking towards the ladder going down, speaking all the while. "Well, Vance, that's because you're merely looking at the result. Not the implications of this. I've managed to gather a group of warriors willing to help us. But not only that, I've proved we can! Can your feeble brain even comprehend what this means?"
Sliding down the ladder, Irving hit the floor with a thump and approached the hunter, back bent as though he were stalking the other boy. "The amount of calculations? The energy required to pull this off? I've literally ripped people across dimensions of space!" He stopped before the hunter and rose to his full height, glaring into Vance's eyes. "These are warriors, Vance. And with them, I actually made some damn progress!
"So beat. That." Irving challenged with a mocking smirk on his lips.
