Irving paused at the door into the carriage. Turning his head revealed above his upthrust up collar a solitary eye, burning with almost fanatic hatred and determination. "Now?" he ground out. "Now, we go on the attack!" So saying he fairly hurled himself bodily into the carriage.

A slight gasp sounded on the paladin's lips as they passed the gates and the city revealed what it held behind the circling walls. The veteran, walking close by, muttered unintelligibly. The grim-looking and dark city already felt more like a home than any other place she had been in a long time, yet the flickering torches lining the streets and alleys stirred up some not very pleasant memories.
The younger of the two felt her back straighten instinctively and her hand move towards the hilt of her side-sword, but neither her conscious senses nor vigilant looks into the alleys revealed the source of her heightened readiness. Trusting the Light to be with her even in this dark and remote place she continued walking.
