i think it's fun to try different mechanics, so if you healed as a druid, i think it might be fun to tank or DPS
but then you already did warlock DPS, so i'm leaning towards rogue for you for melee DPS or, still, a tank
if you go BE, then i would say rogue or ret paladin since the racial for BE silence is a short ranged silence

Hmm sounds like caster classes are your thing. Shamans are probably worth considering as well, like priests they are competitive either as healer or dps but give a different, more mixed experience from priests (which might seem a bit familiar from an ex-warlock's pov). They have a stronger melee / buffing component, with a bit more relaxed solo'ing, although not as strong in PvP.

Warriors are good dps, and end game they are probably the best tanks imo.
If you wanna dps for end game rogues out dps everyone.
A pally, as all hybrids can be a good tank, healer, or dpser. Even though the dps is lower than most classes, it isn't bad to have one in a 25 man raid.

Perhaps the best recommendation I can make to you, since you are talking about raiding with friends, is to find out what they are in desperate need of. I know with my guild we need more healers and tanks, and so one of us is leveling a tank and I'm leveling a pally for healing/off tank if needed.
The thing you have to remember is that you are looking forward to raiding more than anything else, it seems to me. So if that is the case, you want to try and make the raid go as smoothly as possible, filling in the needed gaps with your friends will enable you to enjoy the game more as you won't always be fighting, etc, the usual BS that goes along with raids it seems.
Yes, you enjoying your character DEFINATELY is priority #1, but if you're looking forward to raiding with your friends, keep in mind the needs of the many :)
