Recruit-a-Friend Ruins the Game

I just started playing wow again yesterday and leveled an undead warlock to lvl 12.
Next thing I learn about is the Recruit a Friend ability where a character can level to 60 three times faster than I can.
Thank god I only created a trial account and didn't waste money on the real game. I know no people who play wow other than myself, so I will never be able to use that service. And leveling at normal speed is ridiculous when you know there are other people out there getting there 3 TIMES faster than yourself.
Why bother?
Blizzard you should of thought about the consequences when creating such a feature. A lot of the new warcraft players are going to be felt deceived.

Leveling is hard work and can be very very boring. I understand the game first starts for real at the level cap. Why should I work three times harder to get there than the other people using this service?

I've had a level 70 mage, that is mostly the reason.

I am not saying WoW is boring - but the leveling can be!

Yes, the Blizzard company marketing department are all IDIOTS for creating an incentive for their customers to tell their friends about the game.
Shame on them for wanting to maintain profitability, and increase their customer base. That might mean they could continue to provide their services, or even develop new content. How shortsighted of them.
You said yourself, some people find leveling boring. So, what's wrong with making a way for those who are motivated to speed up the process and get to the part they enjoy more? So you don't know anyone else who currently plays. That doesn't mean no one you know would ever be willing to try the game...
I freely admit, I am biased. I started playing this game because of "Recruit a Friend" and I have had lots of fun. I "recruited" my husband to the game, and HE has had fun. It seems to me kind of silly to "feel deceived" because Blizzard developed an incentive program for people who bring their friends into the game.
It's hardly a secret, the info is right there on the Warcraft website. You don't have to go through a super-exclusive initiation to access it. It sounds to me like someone has a case of "sour grapes."

Jesus...
The game is easy enough to level solo without the RaF. I haven't tried a straight 1-80 run yet, but my 1-70 were less than 7 days played.
The good thing about RaF is that you're
for once
not punished for grouping as you level.

Thanks for the comments. I think you might have changed my opinions toward the way it is.

Hitting a level cap is exciting at first, you get to see that end-game content everyone talks about, but once you've done it all, end-game is boring. I myself think that leveling a certain race for the first time is more exciting.
