Hi i know that when I hit 70 and start tanking bosses i need to drop reckoning cuz of the parry swing timer.
My question is during lvling (my tankadin is 65 right now) Is it ok to use during instances? and if so should i be using SoR with reck or SoV thx
Can someone explain to me to parry business? I hear that once you parry... you'll instantly die. I would like to know what that mean. Sorry if I just hijacked your thread :D.

As your parry/block/dodge increases, reckoning loses its utility. The less you get hit, the less chance reckoning has to proc. At that point, the law of diminishing returns means however many points you have in reckoning would be better spent anywhere else, except seal of command, which is useless for tanking.

If you got content on farm, you could switch back to reckoning for the nice amount of threat it gives. More complicated bosses do more than just auto attack, so there are a lot more damage "ticks" that can each proc reckoning, giving you a &*!@load of extra threat.
True, but at higher levels, reckoning barely procs at all if your defense is good. That makes it 1-5 talent points that could have been used elsewhere, instead of on a talent that has a maximum chance of 10% to proc when you take damage, which won't happen much if your defense is where it should be.

To the OP, reckoning is a must have talent while leveling, use whichever seal gives most damage with it, I just tend to stick to SoR for trash and SoV for bosses while disregarding if I have Reckoning or not, 5 stacks of SoV will give additional holy damage on hit anyways.
Q: Reckoning only procs from hits that are not parried or dodged (I'm not sure about block, but blocks should proc it, can someone please confirm?).
A: Btw, partial blocks can also proc reckoning since you still take damage, full blocks can't.

You won't instantly die, it's just that the next swing occurs faster (~60% faster?).
I'm not sure either if parry makes the swing timer 60% faster or makes it skip it altogether, however, it is correct that when a player or an NPC parries an attack, their swing timer is reduced for a counter-attack
