Prospecting is a no-brained money maker.
You buy Adamantite for 23g a stack and you can easily get 30g from prospecting on my server.

you'll make only moderate amounts of money selling the uncut gems (depends on your server), if you really want to make cash it's in the blue gem recipes.
By prospecting gems and a little luck, along with the right recipe you can literally make 20-30g profit per stack of ore (example getting something like a nightseye out of a 25g stack of ore and cutting it to a shifting nightseye will net about 30g in profit on TN).
Just be careful, no one knows how the gem markets will react once the epic gems and designs are more available (once the alch lab on the isle of quel'danas opens).
