I don't really understand what you mean by being thought of as "An Aldor" and an NPC. I don't understand how someone would think of you as an NPC....
But if you're talking about roleplaying a Draenei, I think you should be either a Priest, Paladin or maybe a warrior. Mainly because they always say "May the light embrace you" and they all believe in the light. Actually the most roleplaying class for Draenei is a paladin(I mean if you want to go like what most of their people are, story based....).

It's ok, being dranei priest will make RP easier as you can pretend to be aldor member as you run around in shattrath
in another note, dranei shadow preists cannot be mstaken for a S priest IMO
