You got to grief your own faction and turn Orgrimar into a plague pit, but it's the AH mules and the bank alts that are going to be exacting their payment for your lack of maturity.
You realize that the same level 70s you are talking about are the ones who control the alts and mules you are also refering too?

"All the people complaining annoy me"
Why? Seriously. Why? Are we not entitled to our opinion? Or am I sorry, am I suppose to agree with you or else? Have you ever stopped one moment to respect the freedom of others and allow them to complain? Have you tried at all to understand why they are complaining? Or does it just make you feel better not having to answer it by shrugging them off as whiners? Is it that hard for you to understand that not everyone plays the game like you? Nor enjoys it like you?
So what, we're suppose to sit here like good little wives and shut our mouth so the big ole' griefers can have their fun at our expense? Are we suppose to be masochists and yell "make my gaming experience hell! give me more!" so you can get some sick sadistic high off of having fun at our own expense as if we are required to do so?
I'm sorry, I don't usually speak this way, but in all honesty, go screw yourself.
"If you don't like it just stop playing."
Yeah, like to point out here I paid 15 dollars for 4 weeks of World of Warcraft. Now, when WoW was advertised to me, when I was directed to a PvE server, and when I gave Blizzard MY money I was assured that I'd actually be able to play the game those four weeks (minus maintenance of course). The fact that I was not able to play or enjoy the game for a week because I was killed (and yes, I spent most of the week I wasn't in instances or in Bgs-when the battlemasters weren't dead-corpse walking or running from zombies).
"We wanted to make this a memorable event."
Hurricane Katrina was a memorable event. September 11th hijackings were memorable events. The day my grandfather died was a memorable event. The day I was almost killed in a car accident was a memorable event.
Just because its memorable doesn't mean its good. I, as welll as many, are going to remember this event as the time Blizzard said "Screw you. We have your money now. Deal with it.". We're going to remember this as the event where Blizzard showed its true colors and would rather do whatever the hell it wanted to the gaming world just because it could.
The effect of this event is similar to the effect of REAL natural disasters. Granted, this is a simulated virtual world, however this is a game which requires dedication, commitment, and great involvement to go anywhere. People are use to this world just as they are use to their own real world. Most players who have played for a substantial period of time can tell you how to get anywhere in the game world like they could give directions to the gas station down the street. Whether you like it or not, whether you're a casual long term player or a hardcore raider, World of Warcraft is a part of your life. Just like the football field is to a jock, or a chessboard to a chess player, or a bike trail is to a biker. It may not be your life, but your continual participation in it IS a part of your life.
From a psychological standpoint. What Blizzard did was suicide. I know of many players who walked away from Stormwind feeling physically sick and exhausted by the whole event. I know others who were almost in tears from constantly getting killed. I remember when I rode through Stormwind on my paladin I felt like I was passing through a war zone. Yes, that's the effect Blizzard wanted but I don't think they understand the difference between "giving an effect" and actually pulling out those emotions in people.
My town was hit by a tornado a year ago. I remember walking down the streets with the sounds of generators and debris scattered all over houses and the road. It was dead and eerie. In a way that unless you've actually lived through it, you can't understand that feeling.
And when I log into my familiar game and find myself feeling those same feelings (along with many others, because I know I am not the only one), in a game...that I'm paying for...that's just not how it should be.
It was bad enough that we had to deal with the changes in the patch. Characters we had fine tuned and were accustomed to their builds were in some cases drastically changed. The mechanics of the game were in some areas drastically changed. Layouts of familiar in-game places were drastically changed. Add-on changes either not working yet or not working the same after having accustomed to it. Wide spread server instability. Headless Horseman being yet another change.
Any psychologist would tell you even these changes in a game that is so familiar to its players, is very unsettling. Good or not. These changes already had many people unsettled and disoriented.
Then they throw in an event that allows other players to grief and kill unabated on servers where this was never possible before...
Whether you want to acknowledge it or not, this was all idiotic from a psychological standpoint.

I wish Phase 6 lasted until 1st January 2009 Because yes i will admit it i
Loved
being able to grief other same faction players.
Anyone who has never ever been griefed/screwed over/annoyed/ by someone of the same faction has either never left a cpaital city ot never made it past lvl 5.
Previously the only way to get back at your own faction for someone causing you grief was to to need on their phat loots or 'ninja' but it was nice to have another way to finally get rid of the frustration/hard feelings/general discontent/ that had been caued to me.
I've been playing since 2005 and i have had a LOT of people screw me over from my same faction on two different servers in numerous diffrent occassions world pvp/raiding/instancing/questing/ you name it.
I can't believe some people were so upset and shaken up by the whole even to want to stop playing the game.
It seems as though the new generation of Burning Crusade players has caused a more eagar to critiscise much less diverse audience of players to engage in the game
It doesn't give me a lot of hope for the type of players Wotlk will attract.

lol @ the masochinist and good little housewife comments from that really ticked off lady/man. It was so pointless. Unless they were trying to say everyone on WoW is a housewife or beats their housewife?
analogy
–noun, plural -gies.
1. a similarity between like features of two things, on which a comparison may be based: the analogy between the heart and a pump.
2. similarity or comparability: I see no analogy between your problem and mine.
Recreational Soccer League
To usher in the new season all players will now be allowed to body check, slide tackle, and otherwise beat the living crap out of any person on the field. You may go so far as even scoring on your own teams goal.
After having your face rubbed in the grass you must then join the a third team. It is likely that fans and players of the other team will bum rush you and shove your face in the dirt again.
Players on the third extra team must then take a lap around the field to re-enter the game on their original team.
We would like to stress that this is a one-time only event and we hope its memorable. We also understand that lesser skilled and physically fit players will be the primary targets. This is how we designed this event to begin with. It is your fault you haven't been playing longer. If your own team doesn't protect you, that is not the referees concern.
This event will last indefinitely (until we say its over). You can either choose to participate or sit on the side lines (no refunds will be given).
If you complain you will be dismissed as a whining baby. If you do not find this fun, you are a lame loser who is trying to ruin everyone elses fun.
We understand that you will not be able to play the game as you normally would. This is the point. We hope that this event will stress and promote the competitiveness of the upcoming season. We mean no harm in it.
For some reason if you as a paying customer are upset by this event, understand that this is a game and that you should by no means be in anyway distressed, angry, or upset.

If uninteresting expansions and stale environments are what you crave, the online gaming market will be more than eager to present you with some alternative titles.
Fury, Age of Conan, Runescape,
To name a few.
