I think Mists of Pandaria is a really bad move on blizzards part. First, we were given Dranei, Blood Elves, and a world infested with demons that was slowly coming apart at the seems. Then, we got death knights and a frozen wasteland on which we fought endless amounts of undead scourge. After that, we were given Worgen, Goblins, and a gigantic dragon to kill. Now, we are going to get pandas.
Not only does it seem like a step-down from the last few expansions, but the new features aren't very exciting. When compared to the fiery wastes of Outland, or the frozen mountains of Northrend, the new zones look rather uninteresting to me. The new talent system is a joke (Am I the only one who wants the pre-cataclysm talent trees back?) and the other new features, such as the pet battle system, just seem unnecessary.
I feel like we're moving further and further away from the game I fell in love with all those years ago, and I don't like it one bit. Mists of Pandaria is just alienating the veteran players who have been here from the beginning.

I want the pre-Cataclysm talent trees back, but I prefer the MoP trees to the Cataclysm trees. I don't think "THIS AWESOME SPELL" or "THIS AWESOME SPELL" are the only choices you should make, I also liked choices like Endless Winter or Butchery in Cataclysm for Tanking, or say in Wrath Dark Conviction or Black Ice for Unholy.

I don't really care either way =P (Although I do like the MoP design)

agree word for word.
I'm not exactly 100% happy about the MoP talent design, but at this point EVERYTHING is better than what we have at the moment.
/sighs, I miss the good ol' days when our trees where that complex...........

Being with the game since day 1, this was the last straw of a continued decline. I honestly can't see how any player that was around in vanilla days could be happy with this. I transferred all my gold to my son and canceled account yesterday. Everquest sucks the video makes me seasick, still looking for a good game.

I've been around since the "vanilla days" and I'm perfectly happy with MoP thus far.

Lol, so here it is, 20 days away, and my feelings about this haven't changed: Still looking forward to the expansion, and still can't wait to roll Pandaren Monk, Shaman and Hunter.

Been here since the end of Vanilla, and this is the change that WoW needs.

I completely disagree. I honestly don't think WoW needed a change.
Cataclysm ruined leveling for me. I went through the old world leveling countless times between rerolling my Shaman and Hunter just to experiance my favorite parts all over again. The old style was perfect, I didn't feel forced to raid, or shoved to max level, or any of that. I could just sit back and level toon after toon, and reroll them after they finished Outlands. It was honestly the most fun I had gotten out of a game in a while.
And then Cataclysm comes out, and suddenly everyone has to raid (Or at least be max level, for whatever reason) Rerolling stopped being fun, because you were max level in two weeks at most. It was just annoying and boring to be shoved through everything so fast, all because the raiders whined about wanting their free 85s.
And, as far as I can tell, every single MMO has gone the same direction.
So I've just given up on MMOs entirely now, which is depressing. I want to come back to WoW, but I know I'll just hate it.

I completely forgot this thread I made existed..
Well thanks for resurrecting it. It's relevant now more than ever.

I take back what I said about the talent trees. While the specific talents that were given to the DKs are (IMO) very lackluster (Specially the lvl 90 row) the idea and concept itself are pretty nice and miles better than the old cataclysm version.
Honestly I love the expansion, or at least most of it, I still don't like the name of the continent. I mean really? pandaria? I get that the race name is pandaren, and it doesn't sound silly because the other humanoid-animal races have names that reflect from what animal they come from (Tauren, from the latin word Taurus which means bull) but to call their land pandaria? sounds too stupid.
How did we get from continents named Kalimdor, Northrend, Draenor(Outland), and Azeroth (Later renamed Eastern Kingdoms) to Pandaria? one of these clearly is out of place with the others. I would had prefered a more eastern name for the continent, like Wu-dao or something like that.
Excluding the name of the continent which I still think sounds way too silly, the rest of the expansion is amazing, and I can't wait to play it.

Because the Pandarens named it?
Also, Azeroth was the southern area of EK, below the lines where the Dwarf kingdoms started heh; it was Azeroth, Khaz Modan, Lordaeron and Quel'thas originally for the locations, then they swapped the name to Eastern Kingdoms for WoW.

Well.... Draenor totally sounds like Draenei... so there is that...

No excuse. Would YOU be ok if the taurens had named their land "Taurania" instead of Mulgore? One sounds tribal, savage, awesome, the other sounds like a third world european country.
I have no issue with the pandarens (love them) and have no issue with their name (its fitting) but the name of the continent sounds really stupid, specially when placed next to the names of the other continents.
Well.... Draenor totally sounds like Draenei... so there is that...
At the very least both are invented words. And I dunno how to properly say it, so I'll just say flat out that if they had named Draenor "Draenaria" it would also sound silly.
Something named "land" or "aria" simply sounds way too corny for my taste.
Like I said, a simple eastern-sounding name would had been much better. Kun-Lai sounds pretty badass, I wish it was the name of the continent rather than a zone.

Rank, it seems to be the way the races of Azeroth do that; after all, the Kalidori named the entire continent Kalimdor when they first became 'intelligent', even though the other races were around heh.

And again, "Kalimdor" sound a lot better than "Kalimdaria"
The Quel'dorei named their land Quel'Thalas which sounds way better than "quel'thaland" or "Quel'Thalandaria"
zones who's name is made up of word+aria sound corny.
Just like zones who's names are word+land sound equally corny (at least to my tastes)
This is why I have no problem with the draenei naming their new world Draenor, or Kaldorei naming their land Kalimdor. There's plenty of ways to name the pandaren continent, with names that include the word Panda, yet lack the adjective "aria" or "land"

Why would they give an eastern name to a continent with an Asian theme? I don't understand your logic here rankkorr. I think the name is fitting and appropriate for the expansion. It may not sound great with the other continents but then again this isn't like any previous expansion.

Bad choice of words. I meant an asian-sounding name. OR if they wanted to name the continent after their main race, there's other ways they could had done it without having to go for pandaria, dunno why, but it just sounds so silly. There's plenty of ways to name it where the word "Panda" is included, but the ending "land" or "aria" aren't.
Its just a minor gripe I got against the expansion, I pretty much love the rest.
